I do and I'm actually fond of Andy just afraid of this match. His draw might not be as easy as everyone is predicting.

No Murray will blow him off the court. It will be a straight setter. Melzer doesn't stand a chance.

Melzer wouldn't even beat his shadow in a grand slam third round.

It would be really funny seeing Melzer pumping his muscles and shouting "too strong, too strong" :)

Are you watching the third set of their US Open match ? That's not live, we know the result - Meler lost to Andy if it helps you :)

Not really, Melzer has played Murray before and he took a set off him and broke him in the other 2 sets.

Murray beat Melzer 6-7(5) 4-6 7-6(5) 6-1 6-3 in the 2008 US Open, now how the hell will Murray trash Melzer?

Agreed. This could be a tough match up for Murray. Yea Murray has done alot since this match but it may be just a bad match up and past match ups always play a part to a certain degree.

with murray playing better than what he did against melzer at the US Open which he surely will do.

Melzer played out of his skin in that USO match, could he repeat that form?

If not, I'd back Murray in 3 or 4 sets.

Wow this was a tought match. At least id like to see Meltzer taking him the distance again, that way Murray's fitness will be tested. 7-6 in the fith would be nice

Seriously though, not really, Murray is a much better version of himself this year, than he was at the US Open 08. Didn't he trash Melzer in a Davis Cup tie back in September when GB played Austria, after the US Open?

I think Murray was possibly caught a little off-guard by Melzer at the US Open, last year...not convinced that Melzer's game will have quite the same devastating effect this time around, not least because Muzza seems to be stronger than ever.

Yes, it might be a tough match for Muzza.

7:6 in the fifth at AO would be the first time ever and you don't need to be Voo to know that ;)

Maybe you have a really short term memory, but no, Melzer took a set off him in that match and there was a 7-6 to Murray and a 7-5 too. Not exactly a trashing? He looked terrible at times.

I don't recall a 7-6 set in that Davis Cup match. Maybe you need your head examing...

Only a 7-5 then and correct me if I am wrong here, but Murray won 2 sets 6-4 6-4 right? Where's the complete domination there? Melzer had quite a lot of break points..

Murray won 72.4% on serve to Melzer's 58.3. You don't get that kind of spread by dominating only the last two sets, you get it by dominating for all five. Melzer's competitiveness was an illusion created by The 'Big Point' Phenomenon. Three weeks later they played a much tighter match (66.7% to 59.2) that didn't even sniff a fifth set.

Melzer is a quality player so theres a chance but neither are in the 3rd round yet so its not even a match, if it does occur Murray will win but Melzer has the talent to beat him if he under performs

No, he didn't. I watched the match and Melzer did not have a lot of break points. The score was 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.

You clearly didn't watch the match, since you first said Murray won a tiebreak and next said he won a set 7-5.

ooouuh... i like melzer and think he has a lot unfulfilled potential, but seriously... NO! i saw both matches, USO and davis cup. uso was very tight and melzer was only two points away from grabbing it in straights, but murray played well at the important stages and jurgen eventually lost his head somehow... davis cup was quite okay, but murray again showed that he's number 4 in the world for his reason. melzer's start this year wasn't that brilliant, neither in singles nor in doubles with julian knowle. i really hope that he can step it up next week but murray in the form he currently has is a bit too tough still. certainly no easy match for muzza, but i expect him to win iiin.. lets say 4 sets

On what basis does your Scottish mind delude this on? It was over 6 months ago and yes, I did watch it.

Because you've been rattling off one wrong statistic after another about the match. I don't see why you'd call me deluded, or why it's relevant to Murray-Melzer. :p

Actually he was beating Murray 2 sets to 0 in the US Open... then he choked and Murray won but Jurgen was all fired up in that one.
