Maybe Tsonga is not playing... he hasn't decided yet... I think he had an injury or something.
If Tsonga doesnt play then... it will be a Lucky Loser???

Yes, but I dont think he will pull out. He has te final points to defend, he probably gave that WO this week as a precaution

Everybody, Juan is now my 2nd fave player. He was so awesome at the Aus Open. He's just so polite (that was the word Peta used when she met him, but I couldn't agree more). I had a photo taken with him, and it was awesome. And today, I was sitting down having lunch in the shade, and Juan and his team came and sat on the table right next to me. I said hi to Juan and smiled, and he did the same. Then he went and warmed up while he was waiting for people to leave his practice court, and his coach began talking to me. I told him how to pronounce 'Hisense' arena, and then he asked me what Hisense was, and I told him it was electrical stuff. He then yelled out to Juan, and he came over, and we started talking together. I couldn't believe how nice he was, him and his coach were amazing. And his coach told a group of girls that he was the professional player, not Juan, and they actually bought it. I looked at his coach as if to say 'liar' and he winked at me as if to say 'play along with it'. Then later on when the girls went away we burst out laughing. It was such a great day, until I saw him lose to Tsonga that is, but theres still the doubles at least

:worship: what a great thing to read! This was the exactly impression I had of him and that's a big reason why he is my favourite player (along with Lapentti), nice to see that he is nice indeed :)

I hope I can take a picture with him at Buenos Aires next month :)

hola ferrero_forever

Thank yuo for sharing your experience. Pico is a special guy, indeed :) I am glad you spent a great time him and his coach, who is also very nice. I am happy they work together now.

Sorry to hear Juan lost, though. But it was a hard draw. I hope he will win some matches in the doubles competition. Vamos Juan!

To be honest, I don't know. He had a few guys with him, but there was one in particular I was talking to. I never really bothered before to look into his coaching team, but maybe I should now. He was skinny, but not muscly if you know what I mean.

And yes I definetly do have heaps of photos (I have more of Juan then of Juan Carlos believe it or not), but I'll post them after the tennis is over due to lack of time. Sorry guys

hi everyone, Juan won his doubles today with Arnold Ker over Tipsarevic and Troicki in 2 sets. The match was pretty good, but quite windy which made things tough. They did really well though. There was one point that was hillarious though. These aussie guys had just sat down, and they wern't looking and all of a sudden Juan served a ball straight into one of the aussies neck. Everybody couldn't stop laughing, but it must have hurt like hell. Anyway I'm glad Juan is hanging around Melbourne for a few more days:)

I'm not that happy that Pico won again in doubles because it was against our Brazilian hopes Melo/Sá, but still it's great for him :)

I'm really sorry guys I've started this debate over which coach. I honestly have no idea who it was.

And yeah I saw todays doubles match:) It was awesome. Melo and Sa were great players, and I didn't think Monaco and Arnold Ker had a chance, especially when they were down 4-0 or something like that. But they really fought hard for every point, and it was a very entertaining match. Next up is Lopez/Verdasco which I think will be tricky, but not impossible. I've been really enjoying his doubles, and I think they both enjoy playing it too.

This is from Rafa's blog for The Times online on Wednesday:

"For the rest, I had an "early day". I mean I hit in the morning today and left the site pretty early too. I had some lunch on-site with Juan Monaco and some friends of his that came to Melbourne. Funny lunch and you can imagine we talked about many things including football (soccer), When you have Argentineans and Spaniards, for sure that at some point we are going to talk about football."

:)

I don't actually have a photo of the coach guys, I'm sorry.

And today I saw Juan and Lucas practice (I was the only person watching, that was really awkward). But Lucas had his adorable little kid running around the court as a ballboy, and he was climbing up the umpires chair and everything, so funny. But the best part was when Fish and Isner came onto the court after him, and they had a gridiron ball and they were throwing it around, tackling eachother and arguing, and it was so funny, and Juan and Lucas were just sitting there are laughing their heads of at them as was everyone else. I took a photo of Isner, and Juan is in the background with a massive smile on his face, it was so nice to see Juan's smile because its so beautiful. Just typing this I'm thinking 'Juan Monaco, so hot!!!' Tomorrow he's second on court 6 playing doubles against Feliciano and Fernando, I have a bad feeling about this match because Fernando is on fire right now, but still its going to be fantastic:)

Aww I'm sorry, But I really cant help it if he's one of the hottest guys I've ever laid eyes on.

And concerning his doubles match, the first set they really couldn't do much because Lopez/Verdasco were brilliant. But in the second set, they had their chances, but the real problem came when Monaco made this brilliant shot and ended up banging his knee on the wall. He needed ice for it, and it was all downhill from there. He was limping around the court, and the chance they had to level the match was ruined by an accident. It was quite sad to see anyway:( I miss Juan already

Caio_Brasil

do you know if it could be an injury or there's no reason to be concerned? It would be really sad if Pico had his season affected by an injury in a doubles match again.

I hope it's not an injury... I'm worried ;s

Ferrero Forever
01-26-2009, 10:39 AM
No its not an injury. He was totally fine until he ran into that wall. But to stop himself from running into it head on, he stuck his knee out, and that caused him heaps of pain. I don't think its anything to worry about, it was probably just very very sore at the time, and its probably going to bruise too. But its not going to be a long term thing.
