the fed vs moya match was boring, moya has a worse backhand than fed so it was never gonna be a contest.

good win for stan though.

Does anyone know how well fed played?

Fed played some good exhibition stuff :)

Wawrinka played quite well, but Marcos was truly awful.

The most one-sided 1st round in the history of this tournament.

Wawrinka played quite well, but Marcos was truly awful.

New haircut doesn't help.

Was Fed wearing his Rolex?

As always in exho ;)

I think Roger would really like to prove a point, he's getting sick of all this Murray talk. And you dont want to make the GOAT mad. This Murray business is playing right into his hands :fiery:

Does anyone know how well fed played?

It's an exhibition, he never takes them seriously so why would that matter?

Federer VS Verdasco was a great match! I seriously don't think Verdasco realised it was an exhibition (Federer did though, needless to say). Anyway the other matches today were pretty boring, but that match more than made up for it. They got a standing ovation at the end, and it was heaps of fun to watch. Verdasco will be one to watch this Aus Open.

Hoping for Federer/Gonzalez final, though Wawrinka would be nice too.

lucky one, fed

Yeah, he was lucky.
The match was weird. Federer jumped to 5:0 in the first but the scoreline could have been reverse because Nando had game/break points in 4 games, in the other game had 30-0...
Verdasco looked better than Federer in the third set and should have won it 6-4 with one break of serve if had woken up the animal inside like in the Brisbane's final. Federer was rather hopeless from the baseline and awful at the net until the tie-break, had been winning service games in the third set actually thanks to a good service disposition.
I'm afraid Nando at the end of the match was thinking "Ok. I've got already good result with Federer, no matter how it ends" instead of "I'm Davis Cup champion & Spanish champion, it's time to beat almighty Federer even if it's only an enxhibition tournament". :o
