Bit of a beatdown in the 3rd from what I saw, looked forward to the match against Del Pony.

mugs match. gulbis had like 40 ue's. MGP just gave up in the 3rd set, looked tired as hell. He had been upsetting "Ernay Julbee" with some decent variety for the first 2 sets.

Julbee just said he used the dropshot a lot because he "can't do anything else".

The fact Gulbis didn't finish the match in straight sets is pathetic. Gulbis should always beat players like Granollers 6-4 6-2, even after awakening in the middle of the night :help: At least on the hard/grass courts.

Let,

Gulbis = Most overrated player on MTF
Granollers = Least respected players on MTF

Gulbis + Granollers = Close match.

Clownish stuff. One can forgive Marcel cause he has no game to do more than this but how Ernest was clowning around for the whole match was nothing short of pathetic :o

This is true.

Matches between these two will be as close as Ernests wants. If he clowns around you´ll get one of this, if he plays well, Granollers won´t win more than 5 games

Nah I was talking about the weird game they were playing before, but the juniors weren't that bad, were spanking them out at the beginning but picked up at the end, even though the little kid got some points given to him when he hit out . Probably more entertaining than WTA.

I agree that Gulbis has more potential and, probably, a brighter career ahead of him; however, you're the idiot if you actually believe that something as subjective as "quality" proves more than the concrete statistics given by Snowwy.

Gulbis is more talented and bashes more, but he mentality is a bit weak yet, so he could lose this game.

I don't think he'll ever be tough, mentally.

Well done Ernie. Granollers is playing solid tennis atm.

Should be a good match with JMDP.

Well, at least he won :) I just hope he will put some decent performance vs Del Potro, as I don't really see him winning that one.

Granollers is not that bad actually. I think you're underrating him. He isn't really a typical clay-courter, IMO, and he's got quite a versatile playing style, which is pretty troublesome for Gulbis, who does quite a lot of ball-bashing.

Gulbis is the new Nalbandian.

In what sense? Do you suggest that he's overrated just as there are people who tend to overrate Nalbandian?

I don't think he'll ever be tough, mentally.

Very true.. As a Gulbis' supporter, I'm actually very concerned about this.

Go Erno :yeah:

I'm not particularly fond of who's better comparisons until players have finished or are at least close to the end of their career, but since it was brought up, I don't see how those facts prove anything about this match up on HC. Close match on clay, OK. On hard, either Erno will beat himself or he should stroll through IMO. Since one would not expect him to keep beating himself forever if he's to make progress, Voo has more of a point in my view.
