Auckland Rd1 - Kohli def. Hrbaty 6-1 6-2

more than expected

Hrbaty shouldn´t have played here, either. He has three exhausting matches on his belt from last week and he is playing qualies for the AO, so he should have flown to Melbourne directly from Perth.

No motivation from Domino, Kohli destroyed him, althought it was not very entertaining to watch.

Now, defend the title, Philipp!!! ;)

good work Kohli :yeah:

No surprise - since Dom didn't get a wc he has no choice but to try and Qualify in Melbourne so he wasn't going to try too hard.

No surprise as Dominik will have AO Qualies as his prime focus.

I was a bit worried if Hrbaty made it to the latter rounds in Auckland because he couldn't qualify for the AO.

Now its all good... :p

Kohli is very solid, it was very tough draw for Hrbaty (especially after tight matches in Perth) but for his ranking, fighting to reach quarterfinal in Auckland would have been more reasonable. IMO is very probable he's going to lose in the 2nd round of qualies in Melbourne. Anyway his next ATP tournament has No. 300 (it's a border unavailable to most players with long successful career) so it would be a nice jubilee to notch it at the Australian Open :)
