sorry for my question but i understand nothing to the new system. I just want to know if, in 2009, there will be a Race or no ??
If no, teh qualification for Matsers Cup will be the eight best players in the entry system ?

Thanks

No Race

Selection List. The selection list for the event shall be:
a) The top seven (7) players in the South African Airways ATP Rankings as of the
Monday after the last ATP World Tour tournament of the calendar year; followed
by
b) Up to two (2) Grand Slam winners of that year, in order of their positions, positioned
between eight (8) and twenty (20) in the South African Airways ATP
Rankings as of that Monday; followed by
c) Players positioned eight (8) and below in the South African Airways ATP
Rankings as of that Monday.

See Judio.

But I guess it would be possible to keep a rough note of points accumulated throughout the season.

Basically 1-8 in the entry rankings, as there won't be a slam winner outside these rankings.

I have suggested to do that as Judio already makes the rankings, but I will not start before the Australian Open since it's useless in the very beginning of the year.

Anyway, after Paris tournaments, the rankings and the Race were the same except for players who had played challengers (or lost in qualifyings).

Then they can use the rankings to determine the participants to the "ATP World Tour Final" (ie Masters Cup) :

the rules to determine these participants which Judio displayed are exactly the same as last year.

usually it's like that

... but if a player wins a slam and is ranked between 9 and 20,

he replaces the number 8.

how is this determined? is it based on how you do in 2009 only?
is this the same as your 2009 ranking or different?
