How excited I was this weekend when I FINALLY got my series ticket renewal packet...until I opened it. Turns out, they are making no concessions to those of us who have no interest in buying tickets to the women's event. If I want to renew my series tickets, I have to buy tickets to both events. That sucks.

I know that eventually they will be combined into one tournament, but they're not yet, and I have no intention or desire to attend the women's tournament, nor to bankroll it. I sent the tournament ticket office a polite but unhappy letter, but I know it will do very little good.

How strange it is, after all these years, to be considering NOT going to Cincinnati.

Is anyone else a series ticketholder, and what do you think of being forced to buy both sets of tickets to get one?

On another note, is anyone interested in possibly buying two really good seats for the women's tournament? Cheap?

I am probably going, but very unhappy about the ticketing situation. It's just hard to imagine NOT going. Though, I do wonder if this won't be our last year.

It's so annoying about the women's tickets; I'll be in Montreal for god's sake. I'm still going to go though since it's the last year I'll be in the area.

I sent my renewal in yesterday. Also not happy about the ladies, but it wasn't too much extra and I'll try to sell those or give them to a friend who lives nearby. I don't know whose bright idea it was to include the girls, but I don't like it. I'm just hoping that by the time I get there, most of them will be long gone.

It should be funny to see how many people actually show up to watch the women. I suspect it will be a mostly empty stadium until the weekend.

I thought both the woman and men would be playing at the same time. Am I wrong? When do the qualies for the men start? That is when I will be there.

I have to hunt for my packet to see what the official dates for each are, but the ladies play the week before the men. I think there might be overlap for the ladies final, but I need to find the darn packet, not sure where I put it. All I know is that I got my final bill that is due by May 1, check is already on the way.

Did anyone already get Cincy Series tickets?

I'm going Sunday to Thursday. I missed last year because of the Olympics after going for six or seven years straight. I'm kind of excited for Sunday with the qualifiers, main draw doubles and women's finals all mixed together. Maybe Rog will play dubs if the kid comes early. Sunday is always a great day to get autographs/pictures. Now with the girls it should be even better. Hopefully Vika makes the final...:) Also, it's always fun to mingle around the Marriott Saturday night when many of the players are there or at the party. There is no better tournament in terms of fan accessibility than here...plus I really enjoy the Midwest atmosphere...like being able to pigout at Big Boy at 11pm.

See everyone there.

Got mine in the mail today...seriously bummed that they have f****d up the one tennis event I have time to go to every year. Sad for me that this will be the last year I go since the women will be integrated into the tournament next year as they have planned. Anyone interested in 2 tickets for the womens event [ draw party, qualy weekend, entry to all courts from Aug 8- 13 including free parking ] PM me.

Pretty sad when we are trying to sell the ladies tickets. I have to work most of that week, but I'll show up for men's qualy weekend/women's semis and finals. At least I'll get to see some guys practicing. Yeah, not sure about renewing next year. I have some other plans for next summer and doubt I can go anyway.

I got my tickets yesterday too. I thought I had my women's tickets sold already, but when I dropped him an email, the guy who I've been talking to for MONTHS bailed on them. So I have to start all over again. Very annoying.

Damn, I have to take my dog with me to Cincy again. My Dad wouldn't take her to his house for a month. She's too old and cranky for the kennel (last two times was really bad and they asked me not to bring her back). *sigh* Well, maybe she can meet yet another player at the hotel, she has better luck than I do.

Yay! Women's tickets finally sold. (Again.) We ended up getting a lot less than they're worth, but since we weren't going to use them, anything is better than nothing.

Can't wait! We'll be headed over in just two weeks!

I'm considering travelling to OH to watch this tournament before going to NYC for US Open. I've never been to cincinnati before and I'd like some suggestions to fill up a week. We'd likely watch the men's semis to finals as well as a couple of earlier rounds here and there. Any recommended hotels to live near the court? Any recommended tourist activities during the 7 day span?

Thanks.

Kirkwood Inn is only about 2 miles from the venue also close to Kings Mountain {if you like amusement parks} IKEA etc... Cincy proper is about 10 minutes by interstate from the motel. Hope you go but be prepared for the heat and humidity as the tournament provides very little relief from same.

This close to the tourney, not sure about hotel availability nearby. They seem to fill up around this time, so if you're going, better start looking.

One dumb question: all the top players will be in this tournament right? (I read the entry list thread). Federer, Nadal, Roddick, Murray etc..?

Also is it okay to purchase early round tickets after the draws are out? Will the price go up significantly?

the top players are required to play here and the other 8 Masters or 1000 tournaments, so yeah unless they are injured, they will play and ticket prices are the same

Thanks. So it's okay to purchase tickets later I guess. Maybe even at the box office? Do tickets at Cincy usually sell out?

Also what do you think about the $48 terrace level tickets sold on official website vs the $80 lodge level tickets on ticketmaster?

Center court at Cincy is not very big. How deep is your wallet? I buy loge tickets every year but sit all over the stadium according to shade patterns and have never had a problem seeing...so terrace is not that bad. Besides in terrace you can go to the top row and look over onto the other play courts where other matches are being played.
