Andy is SOOOOOO going into his prime... did you guys see that game against Chela? And did you see that horrid bruise the size of a freaking asteroid?! Andy, babe, you've got it all! He played through ALL the pain and you can SEE it in his eyes that he wants this... this is the one... He wants this tournament and that's it- end of story.
So Andy fans, I call you all here to his thread- cos our man is gonna be #1!!!

It's been 10 years since I've had desire to attend a tennis tournament. This year was a must as Andy Roddick came to play in Toronto. Andy's passion for both the game and fellow players is addictive. Andy played well and showed Toronto and tennis fans worldwide that he is here and is here to stay. Thanks Andy for bringing tennis back into my life and all the best for continued success!

leos_lover_2000- welcome back to tennis!!! I'm glad Andy did that for you... Andy helped ME regain my game... I'm doing so much better cos I've been studying how he recieves the ball, serves, controls his anger, etc...
He IS the best... i watched him play during the Mercedes-Benz and he's wonderful... watching him live is an adrenaline rush, isn't it? Of course, I cried the whole time cos I was so happy but still- lol!

hey, I watched half of Andy's match, they tuned it back just in time to see that incredible point that's gonna be kept in the record books, like the commentator said, he practically ran a mile out there! shows the Hewitt's not the only one that can do that, lol. Anyway, yeah, Andy's game is definitely looking more complete and consistent these days, but the net is still a weak spot, and the backhand is still a bit inconsistent, but he's still 20, plenty of years to come. Can't wait till he reach his prime! I have full confidence that he'll be the world no. 1 some day!

It's cool to talk to other Roddick fans, most of my friends hate Tennis and don't understand why I watch it. I wish I could watch Andy Roddick play in person.
I was so impressed with his lat 2 victory's and I can't wait to see the match against Sampras!

this is the earliest Andy thread I could find. Does anyone think Andy is close to or at his prime now?
09-15-2004, 06:15 PM
Yes! or at least close to it. It's just unfortunate that it kinda parallels with Fed's prime. lol
09-15-2004, 06:19 PM
lol, Jace, I said in the drawing board thread...2005 is the year Andy takes it to another level, it's Grand Slam or bust for Andy.
09-15-2004, 06:58 PM
Why are you bumping all the old threads?
09-15-2004, 07:07 PM
Why not? I personally find them very interesting.
09-15-2004, 07:20 PM
I was just curious as to why you were bumping them.
09-15-2004, 07:25 PM
well is Andy close to his prime?
09-15-2004, 11:19 PM
I think he is. I definatly think 2005 is the year for Roddick and if he steps it up and works on footwork and what not, I could see him beating Federer. Hey maybe we'll even get the biggest shocker of his career and he'll win the French, lol who knows? I really think that losing his title is gonna motivate him more than any else
09-15-2004, 11:45 PM
I think he's close... mentally, he's further from his prime than he is physically.
09-16-2004, 12:11 AM
I think if he's stumbling around the court, it's safe to say that he's physically challenged.
He's as smart as a monkey. Monkey see monkey do.

'04 35% 45% #2 (undeserved, imo)
'05-2025 55% 60% #1 200 weeks, 10+ slams, 60+ titles

I think Andy hasn't peaked yet but, we won't that he has until he has started to go down hill, and most players don't play their best tennis until 24-25(usually)...I wanna see him get that 160...;)
09-16-2004, 05:21 PM
OH YEA heya, 10+ slams...that's what I'm talkin about! ;)
09-17-2004, 01:34 PM
hey hey, as long as he breaks Pete's record for slams it's all good. Roger will have set a new record by then...lol.
