Eventually she will of course but not right now... I think 2-3 years, maybe at the end of 2006

Honestly - I think it depends on her injuries.
If she's still healthily playing tennis I think she'll carry on until at least the end of the '06 season.
If she's having real injury trouble (e.g. if the wrist doesn't stay healed) I think she'll give up more quickly than that.

Are you crazy? Kim says that her main priorities are to focus on her tennis and maybe when she and Lleyton retire, then, because they'll both be ready.

Crazy? lol Kim has repeatedly said that she wants kids and wants to be a young mother, just like her own mother was. She's also said that she won't be playing for another five years. I really don't think it's crazy to speculate that retiring + kids will happen soon!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Lleyton retired shortly after they have kids but of course the father doesn't actually have a forced break of 12-18 months when the kid is born!

I don't think she'd retire just to be with him - after all they've managed the long distance thing for years, and people don't have a sudden need to be together 24 hours a day just because they get married. However I do think she'll retire some time in her mid twenties to have babies :)

I think they both have the desire to have children while still in their mid twenties. I know that these things can change, but that's one of the reasons they said they wanted to get married now.

How old is Kim? 21?

Yes, Kim is practically a child bride

I agree with Jane, I don't think Kim will retire simply to be with Lleyton all the time. For one thing she would definetly get bored and also just being there and watching him, she'd want to be playing herself. I think once she does retire to have kids, Lleyton won't be far behind. I don't think Lleyton would want to be away from a newborn baby for too long  I think maybe Kim might retire at the end of 2006 and maybe Lleyton in 2008.

aha...i hope they will play long and be happy after... but itll be a pity when they retire altough lleyton reached everything...won grand slam, number 1 of the world, davis cup victory, masters series cup, just the olimpic games...

I agree Dani!
I can just imagine Lleyts with an apron on & doing the cleaning & Kim coming home & Lleyts saying, how was your day dear?
I think Kim will try & play next year & hopefully 2006 also, after that, she could well stop to have kids, afterall, she'll be 23 by then!
I think Lleyton will play a little bit longer, maybe do a bit of a Agassi?

Why oh why doesn't someone stop them on this crazy path - it's so mean to drag kids on the road and if their mother is playing as well as their father it's downright selfish - I have never thought they make a good couple LLeyton should have someone who can be there all the time not having to support their career as well - have you noticed how his best results happened once he knew Kim wasn't playing the slams!! - I guess he didn't fancy the idea of sitting in the stands again.....

hi guys!:wavey:
in my opinion Kim will not retire that fast. I think that there are still lots of things she's looking forward to achieve. So i think we'll be seeing her on court the next few years. And then...who knows;)

 Are we reading the same thread? No-one suggested Kim was going to drag babies around on tour. This is thread is about how soon she will RETIRE so she can have babies. Several people even suggested Lleyton will retire too!

Having said that, I don't think it's necessarily that bad. There are a couple of mothers on the tour whose kids seem to get lavished with attention (mainly by Kim  ) . There would be much, much worse lives for a kid than travelling with their rich, loving parents and maybe an entourage before settling into their Adelaide mansion for the summer.

Also I think LLeyton was raised to cherish a woman and support her in her own career. I don't agree that having a wife devoted only to him with no life of her own would be good for him at all. He has said repeatedly that he enjoys being able to discuss tennis with her. She has said he needs to be led out of his shell. They are both very happy. Sounds ideal to me :)
