Excellent stats but he was not aggressive at all in the baseline rallies and his forehand is a shadow of what it once was...

Just can't see him beating Nadal (most likely opponent) without changing his gamestyle :shrug:

He won't even beat Monfils playing this passively.

If Nadal can play as well as he did in his last two matches here (and beat Monfils, of course), it will be interesting to see how long Roddick might be able to hang with him tomorrow. :angel:

Hasn`t lost a set here so far. Not very active game, but also not many errors and good serving today.

Is he doing that just to conserve energy or what? He seemed to have the match well in hand without having to really do anything special. I don't know if Andy was just going through the motions and was rather uninterested in the match, or that was his strategy. At times it looked as if he was moonballing forehands out there, and a lot of his forehands were landing short in the court. Any top 10 player is going to take advantage of that and punish Roddick.

Great show by Andy. Even though he's still not playing aggressive enough he was never in danger of losing to Hanescu, who's got nothing to hurt Andy with. I think Andy has a hard time getting the gears up for these early round matches, maybe that's why he looks so lackadasial sometimes. I hope Andy will be able to play consistently well, that's been one of his problems all last year. Good luck to him in the next round.

Pretty entertaining match. So far every match from Roddick in this tournament was. Hanescu didn´t play that bad, he was the agressive one, but errors killed him. Roddick played cool and was unusualy very quick and Hanescu was pretty desperate from that.

Awesome serving stats from Roddick, nothing Hanescu can do about that.

Good stats from Andy, but he's still playing [a bit] too passive for my tastes and his BP conversion is same 'ol, same 'ol. I want to see him just let loose tomorrow; hopefully, he's just been biding his time and energy or something. But who knows. At least his movement has improved since last season, so there's that. The way he really ran down some of those balls -- though he may not have always won the point -- was great.
