Today is the last day to withdraw. If the bad news is not coming out today, hopefully he must be fit. This time I would rather see him play a full match atleast - regardless of the result.

if he is totally fit he will win. But I also hope he is playing a full match and doesn't retire again.

 We've really lowered our expectations haven't we? From winning a tournament, to winning a few rounds, to winning a match, to finishing a match...

Hope he doesn't pull out last minute!

I have faith in his tennis - its just the injuries that keep happening

So true Lathlia - even if he loses its ok, as long as there are no injuries. Obviously I would like him to have a good run here, but please, please, please no injuries.

No Panther, we haven't lowered our expectations on him. We are just hoping for the best at the given moment.

Now that, he does'nt have anything much to defend next year, I expect him to do well in all the tournaments next year.

Exactly. I don't worry about the results anymore. Staying injury free is what I'm hoping for.

Just now I've noticed. What have done to my name???

But it's okay.

An Indian sports channel is airing the matches live, I don't know the time difference but hopefully when Juan gets to play it will be early morning here. So that I could get up and get a glimpse of him.

Tommy is going to be a really tough opponent, he played smart and well against that fat dude Dent ( which is of course 100000000 times worse than JC :P )
I didn't see JC play  tho there is a TV channel who broadcast the tournament but I was soooo sleepy  ! Hopefully I'll see him vs. Tommy! Go Juanqui  !

I am happy that he won.

I am more happy that his next opponent is not Taylor Dent. (Thought Tommy won't be easy as well)

I am most happy because he will be playing today in my waking hours may be before 10.30 PM

But since the match is scheduled in no.3 court, I hope they show this match rather than the one from centre court.

lol. I stayed up one day till 4:00 in the morning just to find out his results, i couldn't care how early or late one of his matches were on. And if it was on during school hours i'd fake being sick.

Whoa...thats a bit drastic dont u think?! :p Nah...but I would try and find the score on the net or on my phone...thats if I was at school...but I'm not coz its the holidays!! But well done JC for winning the match. I saw some highlights of Robredo's match and he was playin goood...so lets hope that Juanqui can step up and play to an even better level. Vamos JC!

 I'm very mad cos I'm almost sure they're going to show centre court matches :fiery: !!! Why the freak did they schedule it on court 3?! Ljubicic vs. Moya isn't more interesting than JC vs. Robredo!

Lynne
08-04-2004, 04:53 PM
oh, I think they're gonna show matches played on centre court... but I hope they switch to court 3 when Juanqui's match is on..!!

I'm glad that JC fought and wasn't injured, and played decently against a tricky opponent. I just hope he gets some practice in between now and the olympics, then he should be ready.

Poor Juan Carlos.

But this is good, it's better to see him play badly here, than to see him tank in the Olympics or the US Open.

I think he purposely tanked so he could prepare for the Olympics. ;)

I love tennis
08-06-2004, 06:53 PM
Appart from the Olimpics and the US open, he will play the Davis Cup semi finals, and Madrid Masters Series. ;)

Iza

He might also play in the indoors season in autumn cos there are tournaments in Bangkok, Basel or Moscow.

Any one who saw that match - can you just tell me how Juanqui played?? I mean any sign of injuries or so??

i actually went to TMS cincy and i saw this match live...
ferrero played really well most of the match and there were no signs of any injuries at all... he was moving great and hitting normal so i think his injuires are gone :D the only reason he lost this match was that robredo is playing really well right now

i was actually sitting like 10 feet from ferreros camp (coach, dad, patricia and some other guy) and patricia is sooo pretty in person :) i'll post the pics from the match when i get them downloaded onto my computer

Was the other guy small and thin with glasses? Cos if so, it was probably Sam López, who's like his assistant coach...a really nice guy.
