Eurosport Davydenko Bashing LOL...

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/24122008/58/flops-year.htmlNikolay Davydenko - Living proof that you can use statistics to prove anything; Davydenko is apparently the fifth-best player in the world, despite not making it further than the last eight of any tournament in 2008, and crashing out of Wimbledon in the first round. Add to that the match-fixing allegations and losing to Novak Djokovic in the season-ending Masters Cup final and it becomes apparent that the Russian has not enjoyed a vintage year. We'd cut him a bit more slack if he wasn't so boring.

W: ATP Masters Series Miami, Poertschach, Warsaw F: Estoril, Tennis Masters Cup SF: Doha, Dubai, ATP Masters Series Monte Carlo, ATP Masters Series Paris QF: Moscow

$2.3 million this year. What more do you want mate, really?

Davydenko is the Lendl of our time, if Federer didn't stop him from countless slams he could have a couple slams under his belt right now, I don't know what he should do to gain media attention and more fans though.

But Lendl won 8 grand slams!!

But I guess if consider the fact that he lost in 11 GS finals and 9 GS SFs, then he could have easily been the greatest player ever.

He would gain me as a fan if he retires today.

So Davydenko is boring?

Who's exciting then? Nadull and his boring ridiculous moonballing like a 12 year-old at his first tournament? Or Faker and his boring grinding game without any variation?

come on! after Roger and Rafa, Kolya's been one of the most consistent players on the last 4 years, he has played the TMC for FOUR consecutive years, he's been winning at least a tournament since 2002, he has won AMS titles and reached GS SF several times

He trains hard, enters several tournaments, does not will them all of course, but is overall consistent. In other words, he’s a professional. So Eurosport http://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Langue/K_TONG%7E1.GIF

Kolya was mediocre most of the year so Eurosport does have a point. I still think he is very watchable when his game is on.

Wonder what the donkey has done in GS. Cant even make a final in his career.

When real men show in GS, donkeys can only hide.

The bald loser cant even beat Federer once in his career.

He's a perfect example on why the greatest are a step above the rest. He has no less technique or fitness than the slam winners of his day, yet there is a gap in terms of mental power and focus.

But we can't compare Niko, for example, to Rafa. Too many kilos and cm. on more can make the difference! Rafa's forehand is, indeed, a weight!! To heavy for my Niko!!:eek::sad::sad::wavey:Ciao Bazooka!:wavey:

No, I am sure Davidenko is much more of a heavy hitter than Nadal is!

and about fitness and endurance, Davydenko has the body of a marathon runner. Actually weighting more should be a disadvantage in a five setter.
