If drugs give him some self confidence and self belief, I could turn a blind eye to his using! I often think with him, he's just not arrogant enough and too much of a nice guy. Still my favourite though and always will be. ;)

Tell him to stop standing 10m behind the baseline all the time.

All of the poll options and he may have a shot at top 5.

It has to be his mind. Gasquet is an example of waste of talent for lack of mental strengh. Hope he can get better results next year, I really like his game.

Standing too far behind the baseline particularly on service returns, fitness and footwork. His serve could be better but he could be top 5 if he sorted out his court positioning.

The main thing for Gasquet from now on is to tell himself "I'm the better player than my opponent" every time he steps out on the court. That's not the mentality he has right now even when he's playing against the #210 ranked player in the world.

He has a beautiful game but is mentally weak. Obviously very true for many French players. Unlike other French players in the past I hope he can get his mind together and reach his potential. Remember that the descriptions that are applied to Gasquet now were once applied to Federer.

I dont really get this poll but i think its pretty obvious he needs mental strength.

Fitness and physical strenght.
If he can improve those 2 things then the rest(including the mental strenght)will come from itself.
The guy is by far the worst athlete of any player in the top 20

yes physical and mental strengh, both being linked.

The day he will realize that he can beat every top player,he will have a much better mentality and could deliver his best tennis then.
He has to believe in him.

A mix of mental, physical, ambition and motivation.

Get fitter, get in optimum shape and increase stamina and strength. This will naturally help with his mental strength, as knowing he's put in the work will make him more determined not to let it go to waste.

He just needs to get over his talent and work harder.

Yeah it's exactly what happened to Murray(by Murray's own admission)

Do you really think that? I do think that if you look at Richard, he doesn't have a natural predisposition towards athletiscm. He must do a lot of hard work in the gym (by most people's standards) but he never seems to build muscle or look really ripped like the other players do. Even now he is with Peyre who I think does make him work hard he doesn't really have an athelete's body. I've seen men down my local gym who look fitter so I just wonder if he is naturally at a disadvantage. Some people are, can work really hard but not achieve a great level of fitness or shape. (if that makes sense). I've always noticed how he doesn't seem to have broad shoulders, they slope down which makes him look a lot smaller. Also, people who have met Richard have said he is definitely shorter than the 6'1" that the ATP quote. I know Gilles Simon is quite small but there is not an ounce of fat on him and he is just a completely different personality/heart/player anyway.

It's the mental strength that Richie is lacking. :awww:

Hopefully that changes in the next season. ;)
