What the hell was Monfils doing here last year?

His ranking was too law to reach directly Hamburg's MD last year and he needed to play matchs on clay (Marrakech was just before Casablanca so it's was a good scheduling).

By the way, I can't understand why Mannarino don't play here after being in Rabat, very strange scheduling...

Baghdatis#1

^Well, he can wait;)
Eco needs this much more than him. Now, Eco will have to get a WC for Athens:rolleyes:
So right off the back 2 are wasted, as Economidis came back way too late, and Mazarakis hasn't played a match in like 9 months:o
And, obviously Jakupovic will get one. So the last will either go to Gemouchidis or Kleftakos. Neither player has played this year, but I'd give it to Kleftakos, since he deserves it more than Gemouchidis. Anyways, it will be good for both Jakupovic and Economidis to rise their ranks for the Rhodes Challenger.

EDIT-They won't be participating coz they're in DC;)

Thanks, those seems like good wins.

What is your opinion on the other matches today in morroco? I watched Daniel last week against Munoz and his backhand was all over the place, swish told me he hates playing out of south america, but i am not sure how he matches up vs Hrbarty, does dominator have a good record here?

I have heard some very good things about Rui Machado, seems to be a clay wonderkid but that vanek is a wily old fox.

P0ch-gradin vs Riba is anyones call!

I'd say you should consider many things, his overall record, recent activity, etc. Sometimes a player is not playing in his best surface, but has been playing well and then can make a good transition. I'd say Sidorenko is expected to be a top player (it doesn't mean he is going to be), might reach a career high better than Istomin, but then Istomin is more experienced this moment.

Hajek can play for sure, sometimes he is very lazy and moody, though the heart problems haven't helped him among others.

When he had that big run in Challengers, he was able to win matches on the tour as well.

Hajek can play for sure, sometimes he is very lazy and moody, though the heart problems haven't helped him among others.

When he had that big run in Challengers, he was able to win matches on the tour as well.

Hajek had an impressive and quick progression, first from futures to Challengers and then from Challengers to ATP, but didn't stay much at ATP level since he soon started with problems (if I recall well, it was when starting the season in Oceania).

Clay was his best surface when he came on the tour, so the last part of your statement is false. In fact he had enough chances to make the RG final in 99 and Monte Carlo in 2000. He hasn't been good on clay for a while, but to say he has never fancied this surface is trying to make him out to be Kenneth Carlsen.

came out wrong, I was thinking about the last 5-6 years, he somehow abondoned clay, avodiding it a lot, with all the injuries he had...

Recouderc is a cheaper version of Chardy. I'd like Gimeno-Traver or Horna to win this title, but Lucho needs to win a match first.

Rui Machado I think will take out Recouderc, it seems the top half of this event is stronger, as for Cuevas, it depends on how he serves, his 2nd serve really needs some work.

Recouderc is a cheaper version of Chardy.
The last time I saw Recouderc he did not have a such a good serve and put a much more spin in his strokes than Chardy. Although i agree they both have an excellent forehand.
I forgot about Machado and i agree he will be a threat for everybody.

Big Dick showed the stuff, he would have had fun kicking them up to Gimeno's BH, on these bouncy courts.

Hajek retiring with a shoulder problem, it's not like he is a stranger to retirements.

It's not easy going back to back, especially in the clay challengers. I rate Machado, he should get a WC into Estoril, has more firepower than Gilberto Gil.

I am just wanting Markito Daniel to finish his match quickly.

Jesse Ventura can move his serve around well.

Both Gil and MAchado should get WC, the portuguese have finally 2 solid CH players, giving a WC to fancy player instead of your own would be a dumb decision...
