Who's Going?

Hi guys, I bought one more pair of finals tickets than I needed and now I want to sell them off. I have 1 x ticket to the women's final.

I'm selling it for AUD250 each. If you buy it as a single ticket at Ticketek, it will cost you about AUD280 after accounting for the transaction fee.

If you're still looking for a ticket, please PM me :wavey: I'm not trying to scalp, I'm just stuck with an extra ticket and want to sell it to people who need them more than I do.

I have the same situation as Jitterbug in that I have an extra ticket. I have had something come up that I have to be at on the day of the Women's final so sadly I can no longer attend the Women's Final. So if the above ticket from Jitterbug is taken then you can PM because I have one ticket to the women's final in Lower Row H (I was in the same section and row last year and it is great view, and is really close). It is a student concession ticket but they don't normally check what type of ticket it is. It is $247.45. Like Jitterbug I am not trying to scalp, I just can't attend and I want the ticket to go to a true tennis fan. So if you contact her/him and the ticket is taken you can contact me and I can sell you my ticket. Thanks. Once again it is one ticket to the Women's AO final, row H.

Zahirah - have you had any luck with your tickets yet??? Hope so!!

I'll be there from the 14th (first day of qualifying) until probably the 27th (2nd Tuesday).

Cannot wait! Want to sleep now and wake up on the 14th so I can skip over the next month of stress at work

Hi Peta! :wavey: yeah they better not lose early! But a few of them will be up here in Brisbane so I'm hoping I'll get to see them often while they're there ;)

I just can't wait until Christmas! Away from work, then tennis! :D

I checked the Ticketek website and it seems like the men's final is already sold out.. so if you're still looking for a ticket, please PM me :wavey: I'm not trying to scalp, I'm just stuck with extra tickets and want to sell them to people who need them more than I do.

Update..

I've sold my men's final ticket but the women's final one is still available :D

PS - Peta I'll be there from the 14th too! See you! :hearts:

I've just booked my flights to head over once again after an awesome trip at the start of this year. Will be there for both qualifying and the main draw. Can't wait. Hope to meet some of you there!

Look at you, defying the credit crunch and all that jazz   Will you be sporting the red cap from this year's AO again? Is TheMuzz also going to be there?

This is jitterbug from AM.com by the way - in case you forgot and think I'm a random stalker :p

Hi Jitterbug! I'm not quite sure which cap I will be wearing next month, lol. Could well be the red cap as it's my favourite Barcelona hat. TheMuzz won't be there as he's back in Scotland now.

If you are going to qualies, I will no doubt see you there :)

I believe so.. Yeah :)

If it's anything like this year, the last day of qualies is Saturday before main draw begins. On Sunday, Melbourne Park goes into lockdown - probably to erect the final few marquees/structures/etc but that didn't prevent my friend (and a bunch of her friends) from sneaking in :p.

I'll be there. i have tickets for Rod Laver every day except the finals weekend. Couldn't beleive the prices for 09 compared to 08.

All my tickets are on the upper level which sucks a bit. Still looking forward to it though. Not sure if Fed will play on Rod Laver early. With defending champ, Nole (who played his early matches in Vodophone this year), World no 1 Rafa and Aussie Hewitt something may give. Also think Murrays early matches will be on the 2nd court. Just my thoughts anyways.

It's hard to imagine Federer getting demoted from RLA... I still reckon they would tend to put some of Nole's matches on Hisense rather than Fed if any.

However, with them not all being on the same side of the draw, and day and night matches meaning 3 men's matches are on RLA each day, there is still room enough for them all to be on RLA I would think.

What Peta said! Woohoo!! Less than two weeks :D
I'm not excited at all. ;)

Look forward to seeing you guys! I'll be the Henin lookalike [so they say] with the Austrian flag, sitting next to, and probably embarrassing Peta, the loud-clapper. Vamos Moliiina!

Apparently it will be 39 degrees at quallies tomorrow! Anyone reconsidering? I have been to the tennis on over 40 degree days before and I was suffering, luckily I could run into RLA or Vodafone to cool off, they will be closed during quallies though

I've never been to the qualies and because i'll be there for most of the 2 weeks I'll skip them again due to burn out/stiff neck issues.

The forward forecast suggests the 1st 3 days of the main event won't be that bad, which is nice :)

The last 2 years at Kooyong have been very windy. I don't know if that the norm but it maybe a little more bearable if it's windy.

The forecast for Monday is 35 so still bad :(

I'm very stressed about tomorrow actually. I can't sit in 40 degree weather to watch tennis. I fainted last year and ended up in a medical tent for an hour.

I don't even know if the heat rule applies during qualies. It SHOULD because those players matter as much as those in the main draw when it comes to their health... but I'm not so sure that it does.

It's a shame. Qualies are probably my favourite part of the tournament. I love the relaxed atmosphere there :)

Unfortunately the qualifying players aren't afforded the same privileges when it comes to their health. I remember a day last year when it was 40 degrees during qualifying but the matches were still continuing and new matches starting like normal.

I think I will show up but maybe cool down in the bathroom if it gets too hot. If it is unbearable I will leave. If you fainted last time then I'd say you should definitely leave if you start getting very uncomfortable, your health should always come first.

I heard that the cool change will be early afternoon, so we can always wait for that to happen and then go.

Just hope that its a cool breeze ;)

Often in the Australian summer during very hot days, there can be hot winds, when you are outside it feels like an oven fan. Not fun.

:wavey: was just wondering if any of the regular attendees know if you're allowed to take food in? I remember last year you couldn't take water in but I didn't try to take food it so don't remember the rule. I'll be going one day with a friend with really severe diet restrictions so will either have to take food for her or work out a way to leave, eat and come back. Couldn't find it in the FAQs and would appreciate any advice :)

Hope you all have an awesome time!

You can take both food and water in. Just make sure its all bottled water (no cans, though I don't know why you'd have cans of water). The rule basically is just make sure you've got no cans, and no huge camera lenses, and you're fine. The other stuff is pretty obvious

Thanks jitterbug and FF :) Very helpful.

I think maybe you couldn't take open water bottles in last year - they had to be still sealed. Security is necessary of course but sometimes a bit mysterious
