Mahut also out (shoulder problem), I don't know who will replace him - Chardy would be great, he's from that area.

A young french player would be a good idea bur according the local newspaper this morning it could be Santoro.http://www.ladepeche.fr/article/2008/12/16/508479-Tennis-Mathieu-Clement-en-ouverture-du-Masters-France-de-Toulouse.html
Nothing on official website for the moment

Truc
12-16-2008, 02:44 PM
Great choice, Santoro said yesterday he hasn't picked up a racquet for weeks. ^^

It would be better to invite Chardy or Ouanna (they don't want him because he played only 2 of the required events instead of 3, but he was injured in Metz, he'd deserve to be there imo, he was ahead of Llodra & Co. in the Marseille-Metz-Lyon-Bercy ranking).

The FFT website of the event, it might be better than the official one (but they don't have any information about the replacement for Mahut either):

He's been struggling with a knee injury for weeks, but I asked this morning a guy who knows Mannarino and he said the injury isn't that bad, to his knowledge. He was training normally prior to the event.
It's hard to know, though, Mannarino can hardly admit he's not able to play, there is a lot of money to earn at this event for him.

Thanks for answering. Even if it's not a serious injury I guess this has to do with the results. I was very impressed with his game when I saw him playing Metz at TV, I couldn't understand these easy scores for his opponents. I hope he gets the AO wildcard.

I guess the prize money was too good to pass up and maybe the injury isn't that serious...

Simon nets 135.000 € from this

Truc
12-21-2008, 05:32 PM
Simon was only 3rd in the Masters France ranking, I think, JWT and PHM were #1 and #2, so he should get 80.000 € for the win and a bonus of 40.000 € for his 3rd spot.

But yes, the prize money for this event is insane. Jo gave up on possible 160.000 € (he's not injured, just thought it was better to practice).

You're right, it's probably the reason why Llodra played it too.

soulage

There were 400 points for the win in Toulouse ? I'm wrong ? I say that because of this article (in the middle) http://www.lefigaro.fr/tennis/2008/12/16/02004-20081216ARTSPO00514-s-inscrire-dans-la-duree.php I think Gilles finishes first in both and wins 160 000 Euros ?

Truc
12-21-2008, 06:32 PM
Yes, the FFT website also says he will get 160.000 €, so I guess he gets points for Toulouse too.
:o He really didn't need the money after Shanghai.

Llodra says it's probably nothing serious, just a little muscular problem because the balls were too heavy, he didn't want to take any risk since he was really in pain. It's not the same problem with the nerve he had last year.
