You wait ages for his name to appear in lists and then when it does show up - (like a bus) there's two of them... bonus :)

Definitely the best list this tournament has had in years. Becker, Pless, Russell, some interesting names there you don't usually see coming down to South America, aside from old timers like Chela and Zabaleta. Great stuff that Salinas was moved back to week 2, so that this tournament isn't an isolated fixture in SA anymore.

I'll probably go in the final weekend, if the rain lets me. Hopefully there will be a good SF line-up.

Nicolas Santos got a WC. I simply can't understand it, he didn't have a good season, he isn't playing well and he had a very bad loss to Amado this week. He just isn't in this level yet, is it so hard to understand? Unless he plays the match of his life he won't even win a set of any player on the draw. Terrible choice.

Rogério Dutra da Silva is the next but he withdrew from the futures that is being played in the same venue this week (and was a late withdraw). Anyway, I hope he is fit as I would like to watch him playing here. If he has to play qualies, it won't be much trouble to qualify, and last year the winner was a qualifier (Thiago Alves).

Caio_Brasil

Apparently he got a sponsor last year. But being in the top 300 now he must take some risks at challengers, otherwise his ranking won't raise anymore. His game allows him to win some first rounds in challengers and maybe a few surprising runs. But he must try. We will have a series of tournaments on Latin America so we will find out.

Nathaliia
01-05-2009, 06:50 PM
Yeah and sometimes cut in these challengers is horribly low. Definitely he should start to travel especially if he has a sponsor now.
