Some flashes of Fit Dave here with some great shots, but Ferrer really sucked like he has done in recent times.

Let's hope Del Pony puts us 2-0 up.

Nalbandian was in the zone today :) :worship:. He produced a whole host of breathtaking groundstrokes from both wings, generated some outrageously good angles, looked assured at the net, and served well under pressure.

Excluding the last game fo the match, Nalbandian didn't play something special (obviously he was playing the whole match on a very high level), he hadn't do it, Pics is clearly out of form from many months.

Surgical play from Nalbandian. Considering both players forms this match was predetermined for a straight set win. It is quite a pleasure to watch him when he plays with a confidence and motivation like this.

or to put it in anothe prospective, Ferrer had an amazing period where he was playing out of his skin, and this is what we have to expect from him in the future, just bad tennis.......

This is far from TOP20 tennis

Could have had the same scoreline even with Nadal playing.

Argentina: 4-1 :bigclap:

Ferrer has been out of form for months now, and I honestly don't understand why he was even picked for the DC team.

A routine win, well done Nalby! :hatoff:

Ferrer at the end of the match: (these haven't exactly been his words)

"Sorry to the Spanish crowd, I suck nowadays"

This tie is a win/win situation for Argentina.

Would you have preferred "destroys"? Or "crushes"? Or maybe "rips Ferrer a new one"?

Well Nalby only demolished Pics by the sight of the scoreline. Okay it wasn't the tightest match we've ever seen but Pics had his chances too. 2/9 BP's, Nalbandian played much better on the big points. I already said he really deserved this win because he was better but to speak of a demolition? No way...
I know Argentina is probably going to win this tie but don't look through an all Argentinian-glass.

It's New Zealand, you Geography genius:p I live in the UK but I tend to root for USA because of Roddick+ Bryans. I don't mind Spain or Russia but I despise how Argies were literrally handed the whole thing from the word go, playing all their ties at home and against a depleted Spain in the final. I sure that will be a memorable and relished victory :yeah:

I believe you are even more bitter because this result thread isn't generating as much V-cash as you would like it to :haha::haha::haha:

Handed to us? If Rafa is dumb enough to play crappy tournaments for money, instead of being fit for what really matters is not our problem. We deserve this cup a lot more than Spain do, so shut the fu** up and stay in your little island.

We have no reason to be bitter, we're going to get the Davis Cup, not NZ, USA or Spain :)

Looking at the situation through those rose tinted glasses, you can't even admit that you got the most favorable draw possible  If you had played at least one away tie, your upcoming win would carry more value, but that's not to be. Once again it will be like that sham of 1978, an undeserved triumph.

Well, with these tiny flags I can't distinguish between the Australian and New Zealand flags. You can't even see the tiny stars on them.

You talk as if we were the first team ever to get home ties all the way through. Hint: Spain in 2000 for example.
