I don't get any coverage here *sniff* though I'd like to have seen it...seems Tommy is adapting well to hard courts after the clay and grass seasons...I know the day after he lost in Stuttgart, he went and practised for hours on hard courts somewhere else in Stuttgart so he's obviously very keen to do well. I see he and Juanqui are definitely not playing the doubles (not that we had any doubt about that)...as Feli Lopez and Fernando Verdasco are the alternate pair in their spot. Oh well, I think it's better for Tommy anyway just to be playing singles at the moment. Let's see what he can do against Chela tomorrow...

ok well not sure if you guys have seen the Toronto result, but it ain't good...he lost to Chela 4-6 0-6...don't ask me what happened in the second set but obviously he hasn't adapted as well as I thought he had! Seems he's lost his concentration a bit...or maybe he's injured??? I don't know, but it's not really like him to lose that badly...on to Cinci now I guess...

To be honest, I am quite a bit relieved. Dutch teletext said the result was a double bagel.. 6-0 6-0 to Chela. I really couldn't believe it. 6-4 6-0 is bad enough, though..

What the...? :( Tommy! :bigcry: Why does he keep doing this? It's about time I'm giving him a "how to get through the second round"-lesson. Someone, hire a psychiatrist! C'mon Tommy, this is not helping your way towards the top 10

lol CooCoo...you must've really freaked out when you saw that result!!! Luckily it wasn't quite that bad...but one bagel is bad enough...I don't know, it's just not like him to lose a set that badly...I've always known him to be one of those players who is very tenacious and never gives up but it looks like he couldn't do anything against Chela. It just surprises me because, no offence intended, but Chela is what I would classify as a beatable player by Tommy's standards...I mean he's not like Federer or Roddick (not that Tommy couldn't beat them either)...and for Tommy to be completely blasted off the court by Juan Ignacio is quite a big shock. I wonder whether Tommy behaved himself on court this time hehe probably not...but then it's understandable with that scoreline isn't it?!

What da f***ing heck that I have to express my anger and disappointment!!! :fiery: I only saw the scorebroad!!!Don't know why Tommy gave Chela so many break points in each of his game???But I know Tommy saved many of them until his sixth game was broken!!!Still believe he maybe won the 2nd and 3rd sets!!!However, don't know what happen with the second set???Why couldn't he get one game only even???Always play the match with an unstable status, make the 0-6 1-6 crap result again & again!!! :banghead: How can he aim and able to be the top 10??? Seems always used to say support him, love him that kind of useless bullshit!!! :bs: Now I admit losing lots of confidence on that man, maybe will miss him but I'm really confused at this moment!!! :awww:

Ey User Name.. no need to give up on him already ;). We don't know what happened, we don't know what's up with Tommy mentally and physically and we don't know how good his opponent was. He'll keep trying, he's got the Olympics coming up and playing for your country brings out the best in most players. I'm saying: don't judge him so soon, he'll be back soon enough! :)

Hey I was shocked at the 6-4, 6-0 result too because it was so easy, but remember, Chela is a great player and they are both at the same level of the ATP tour. It could have gone either way. Also, give Tommy a chance. Sometimes to rise could be a slow process that will require patience.

The Top 10 can no longer be Tommy's target this year. His results are way off and if he keeps on playing like this, it's more likely he'll be struggling to stay in the top 50. Yes, Chela is a very good player, but on hard court, Tommy should have won. And then the following round Chela gets whooped over.. It's comparable to Paola Suarez in San Diego. She lost 6-3 6-0 to Marion Bartoli, who then didn't stand a chance against Ai Sugiyama. Tommy & Paola  What are you doing to me? :silly:
