Viktor's bye is a result of Monfils withdrawing, so Viktor inherits Monfils' place in the draw and a LL replaces Viktor... so this will be Viktor's draw..

Bobby Reynolds (USA) - [WC] Tatsuma Ito (JPN)
Wayne Odesnik (USA) - Kevin Kim (USA)
Viktor vs. bye

Not too bad. He'll avenge Nole against Tsonga :D

 I don't understand why Donskoy (and not somebody else) was granted with a WC.
As for home crowd, it is going to be pretty tough because of the group of idiots we have here  they behave themselves as if they are at soccer match and not at tennis, they shout "Go! Come on Russia!" when Russian is facing a player from another country :tape: but they usually mostly attend matches on center court and I doubt Viktor match will be scheduled there :p

As for Vik, I saw him today  he arrived at the stadium together with Janko and some other guys.
After almost today matches finished, I saw him again crossing the vip area with rackets. We did some stalking and found out that his practise was scheduled on court 1 so we went there.
I just took a seat, when security chef appreared and told all the people to leave the stands. Damn, last year it was the same  "All matches are ended, you aren't allowed to stay here anymore! It isn't a match, it is training, all the matches finished for today, thanks, good bye and see you tomorrow. Please leave the stands."
so I quickly pressed the button on my cam and managed to take 2-3 pics of Vik  I will post them later today

Of course Viktor was always going to Paris - he knew I was going to be there :p

Anyway - he won against Vliegan today, even though it was only through retirement which is sad for Vliegen  Score was 6-2, 3-1. I probably won't be there in time to see his match tomorrow, as I won't get to Paris til mid-afternoon, so by the time I've checked into the Hotel and showered etc it may be too late, - but if he wins through to Monday, be sure I will be there to give him a cheer :)

Yes I know :) And I'm afraid I didn't get here early enough today to watch Viktor's match, but he did almost knock me over in the Hotel Foyer about 15 minutes ago - not intentionally, I hope :tape: For those who care - he was wearing jeans and a leather jacket and was smiling lots :D Also apologised for walking into me, though it was probably more my fault as I wasn't wearing my glasses at the time!

Bye for now from Paris :wavey:

I try my best  As I said yesterday, I did not see Viktor's match yesterday, but some friends of mine did (who had never heard of him before then :o ) and were most impressed. Said he was smiling a lot, had a "lovely attitude" and would be in the Top 20 very soon :)

Hey, I saw Viktor on saturday and sunday. The match on saturday was over quickly due to the retirement of Kristof, so I was happy to see him again on sunday.

On saturday I saw him after the match too. His coach (I think) said to Kristof Vliegen's group to take their cab, because Viktor always needs a lot of time to shower  Viktor came out after about 10 minutes, with a towel over his head. That was a pretty funny sight :)

He didn't have the easiest match on sunday against Oli Rochus. He made himself pretty angry at one linejudge. I thought I was in a theater for a moment  But he really meaned it, and I think he was right too. Anyway, his 2nd serve was not so good in that match but he still pulled it off in 2 sets. It was a very nice match to watch. A lot of great points. I filmed one (I'm sorry, Oli won it), but it shows how good the match was. Sorry, it's not the best quality...I knew I should've taken my other cam!

Are there any plans of playing some challengers in the upcoming weeks for Viktor?

An really nice year for Viktor, top 30 next year :)
