01-25-2003, 01:05 PM

01-25-2003, 01:16 PM
np legolas,u r always welcome here! :)

01-25-2003, 01:20 PM
I know I'm welcome :)
And I will post more if some other would post here too :D

01-25-2003, 01:22 PM
well we used to post here a lot when France played Davis Cup final,u can still find out a very long thread about it.maybe ppl will post more when France plays DC again in 2 weeks...

01-25-2003, 01:23 PM
France plays against Holland or Switserland if they win now in DC isn't it?

01-25-2003, 01:24 PM
yes in quarterfinals france plays holland (i hope!) or switzerland.holland away or switzerland at home.

01-25-2003, 01:26 PM
Why do you hope Holland?

It doesn't matter me. I will go to the DC first round of Holand vs. Switserland at sunday. I support both, Holland, because I'm Dutch, and Switserland because of Federer.

01-25-2003, 01:31 PM
wow lucky u!!Davis Cup is great, there is a fantastic atmosphere!i was there for last year's semifinal France vs Usa and it was awesome! :D

I hope Holland for 2 reasons: 1) France always beat easily Holland so i think it would be easier than Switzerland :o sorry
2) Swiss DC coach is the former french coach and my heart would be very sad seeing him on the rivals's bench :(

01-25-2003, 01:33 PM
Yeah, France beats Holland easily, but (I think) last year they were lucky. When Sluiter has an injury.

I've never been to Davic Cup before, but I visited last year the tournaments of Rotterdam and Rosmalen.

01-25-2003, 01:37 PM
i dunno how is the atmosphere in Holland, how ppl feel about DC,but in France everyone is crazy for it and ppl really love and follow their players as stars,so it was incredible!and plus they played it in Roland Garros stadium so u can understand how great was the crowd etc! :)
btw: Holland on clay isnt so dangerous as it can be on carpet,so when they played vs France on clay i think france would have won also with sluiter on court cos frenchies r just too strong on clay.

01-25-2003, 01:41 PM
The atmosphere in Holland is very good I think, That's why I did want to visit the DC. And the Dc will be in a soccerstadium, there will be a lot of people in there I think. I can't wait till that Sunday I go. I have to buy some Orange cloth :D , 'cause here in Holland evrybody wears orange cloths during DC matches :D

LOL :D i dont know what they meant but they disegned a peach there  LOL

01-26-2003, 06:43 AM
LOL--they are definately not Frenchies on holiday then, right??
No one posts in the French musketeers much because we always post in the TOURNAMENT FRENCH CHEERING THREAD, am i right??
Remember how we used to put the TOURNAMENT here, instead of adding a french thread there?
I dunno what's better...what do you think?

01-29-2003, 03:22 AM
Those girls go to my school!!!!!!!

01-29-2003, 05:53 AM
u serious? what school may i ask? (u dont have to tell me if you dont want to)...

01-29-2003, 07:17 AM
Haha yeah.
I got to Eltham College. I don't know if you would have heard of it or not?!

01-30-2003, 04:20 AM
lol ok. If you see them, tell them that their picture is on the internet and people are laughing at it :D

01-31-2003, 05:31 AM
right...are u in the same year level as them?

01-31-2003, 05:49 AM
nope...they are the year below me

02-01-2003, 05:21 AM
do they know their sign was taken a picture of and is on the internet?

02-02-2003, 12:25 AM
One of the girls...her mum is my history teacher, and she was talking to me about the tennis the other day. So I asked her about the girls photo and yeah they know it's up on the net...but they didn't know it was here....cos it is on the FFT site aswell.
Apparently they met all the players at Kooyong...Seb and Richard...going to have to get the goss I think. Haha

02-02-2003, 01:12 AM
Do they follow tennis all year on the net and everything?? Tell them to come here! i wanna talk to them!! They met all the SEB AND GASQUET at Kooyong? HOW??????????

02-02-2003, 02:41 AM
I don't exactly know how....I will find out tho. Her mum just said that they saw all the players training at Kooyong and that they met most of them, like Agassi and stuff....I am asuming they met Seb and Richard....cos her mum did say all. But I will find out for you.

I saw Seb train at the AO...but I had just finished my roll of film so I didn't get any pics :( *sniffles* And Richard...well Im upset. He was standing next to me, watching Ancic's first round match then he walked off past me and I was just like OOOMMMGGG...I didn't realise it was him till he walked off. *sigh*

Tomorrow is monday...I will get the goss :)

02-02-2003, 02:51 AM
but they MET THEM? as in TALKED to them?
yeah i saw seb train at AO before his first round match as well on the first day and got his autograph and that but i didn't MEET him...coz it wasn't an outside court but i took photos but most of them weren't too good...so yeah

OMG i always wondered why i never see players walking around AO coz i know a lot of them do after practising and stuff--ohhh ur so lucky!! What would you have said if you realised it was him before he walked off?

heheh thanks in advance for the goss!!!

02-02-2003, 03:11 AM
What would I have said?!

I would have said I wanted his love child! LMAO!!!! :D

Nah I would have thought that....

I probably just would have asked him if he could sign something for me, and if I could possibly get a photo, then I would have said good luck for his match and thank you then good bye :) LOL...

It was really cute...he was running to try and catch up with his mum :p

02-02-2003, 06:10 AM
LOL @ lovechild comment
That's so cute he was trying to catch up with him mum!! i thought only his dad travelled with him. oh that's cool that you saw him at Kooyong- he played so well in that tourney. ok well i look forward to hearing what u goss u get tomorrow!! ;)

02-03-2003, 04:38 AM
I spoke to them. *feels stupid* LOL
Anyways, they actually did MEET Seb and Richard. Spoke to Richard for a while in French cos they said he can speak a little english but it's not so great. Also...someting to do with Seb and Spanish music?! I think they were playing some weirdo music in the background and the girls asked Seb and some others if they minded if they got the music changed and Seb wanted it changed too?! They got photos and everything done too :)

02-03-2003, 06:16 AM
ohhhh thanks sooo much for talking to them!!!
ooooh i'm SOOO jealous!!! I would so not dare to speak french to ne of them- i'd be too scared!!! ooh did they get photos WITH them? TELL THEM I WANNA TALK TO THEMMM!!
hehe but thanks for that

02-03-2003, 06:32 AM
LOL...I suppose if I could speak French well enough I would. Other wise, yes, I would be to afraid that I was saying 'I want to hump your cow' insted of 'Congrats, you played a good match' LMAO...It's something I would do.

Yes, they got photos with them...well one got one with Richard...I don't know about Seb...they mainly talked about Richie...

Bout the music...they were just watching them train...I think, other wise, I don't know where they could have been? They didn't indiacte that they were anywhere other than the training courts. Who knows *shrugs*

I am jealous too, don't worry. I love Richard and have grown to like Seb more and more over recent months. Hahaha.

02-03-2003, 07:05 AM
i've learnt french for a few years but i'd be so scared speaking it to an actual FRENCH SPEAKING PERSON..lol if u get me.

ohh if u keep talking to me, you'll be liking seb more and more...:)

02-03-2003, 09:54 AM
richard is a really nice guy, i asked him for an autograph on his pic and i said "thanks" and he said "no no thank u"! lol his dad is also very nice and outgoing,we talked a bit in italian and a bit in english,he was glad to see i liked richard so much! :D

02-04-2003, 05:13 AM

Still kicking myself for not realising he was right next to me. I really do have to open my eyes once in a while i think!

02-04-2003, 06:00 AM

02-04-2003, 06:14 AM
heh, yeah i can.

*waits patiently for next year*

02-04-2003, 09:59 AM
it happened the same thing to me! Richard was right next to me,walking and talking at his mobile phone,he hurted me but i didnt care cos I was looking for Guy and when he said "pardon" i realized it was Gasquet!luckily i met hime again the next day and i could take pics of him and his autograph! :)

02-04-2003, 05:57 PM

02-04-2003, 07:17 PM
u didnt?!i met him twice,in Paris and in Palermo :)

02-04-2003, 09:51 PM
I received Tennis Magazine today and I saw this rather funny news... Someone wanted to play mixed doubles with Richard during the Australian Open and it was... Maria Sharapova :). Unfortunately for her, Richard went back home after his first-round loss. This team would have drawn a big crowd I figure :D.

02-05-2003, 03:14 AM
Apparently....don't know if it is true. But they might be playing mixed doubles at Roland Garros?! *shrugs* I don't know tho, I guess we will have to wait and see

02-05-2003, 05:12 AM

just think...... arnaud will be back in sydney, but without sebastien, like i saw them last time in 2002. the passing potes book will only be signed by one. :awww:

guess i should be contented...

12-28-2003, 06:12 AM
i dont think i'll get my passing potes signed...cant be screwed lugging it around!

12-28-2003, 09:14 PM
c'mon, you of all people.... you're used to lugging books every day at school ;)

12-29-2003, 05:56 AM
ugh yeah like fifty textbooks and my laptop!! *sigh* so glad its holidays

but i dunno...it's too big to be carrying aroudn to the tennis coz i dont want to bring a huge bag coz it wont go with my tutu! LOL i'll get liz to carry around maybe? ;) nah i dunno i'll see

12-30-2003, 01:06 AM

12-30-2003, 08:36 AM
lol liz i was KIDDIINNNGGGG
i dunno i'll see what happens...i may just take it to Kooyong so Seb sees it and see what happens coz thatd be so much easier

12-30-2003, 08:39 PM
your best bet is to wait and see if i catch arnaud in adelaide, and if the book makes any difference to his day! lol........

01-02-2004, 09:38 PM
richard is in the qualies draw in adelaide. i won't be seeing any qualies i don't think, so he'd better make it to the main! good luck !!! :)

01-04-2004, 02:55 AM
oh yeah if you get him to sign ur book via, i'm sure you'll have a great story to tell us!! I bet he'd go crazy with excitement knowing arnaud! lool

Richie got thru the first round of qualifying...how many more matches does he have to win? i dont think i've ever followed qualies before so i'm confused lol

01-04-2004, 07:12 AM
He won his second round match against Todd Larkham :bounce:

He has one more to win and he qualifies....but he has to play Mika.....might be tought but I think Richie can do it!!!!

01-04-2004, 08:40 AM
goo Richie,kick Mika's ass!

01-05-2004, 04:22 AM
still no scores but can we move to http://funkychicken.hyperboards.com/index.cgi ? i reckon its so much easier to keep up especially with 3 damn tournaments

01-11-2004, 10:03 AM
just wanna tell people that i feel so proud of richard today !!!!

he came from 2-5 behind in the 3rd set (after losing the 1st and then winning back the 2nd set) to win 7-5 in the 3rd... it was originally scheduled for an outside court but the swedish girl svensson took ages to finish her singles match so she couldn't start her scheduled doubles match on centre court... so they rescheduled richard v lars final men's qualie match there....

i was on court for the last few games.... by then the centre court was almost full of people, and man, it's the olympic stadium and almost everyone was going 'richard! richard!' to cheer him on. there was a single high-pitch kid's voice going 'go germany' (perhaps the german name was too hard to say)... and a bloke got sick of him/her so he went 'GO FRANCE!!!!' to answer the poor kid..... lol

oh well, poor lars, losing a match like that, ha! but sydney loves a fighter and we love richard and it's a great win for him. it will be a very competitive field in the main draw..... good luck !!!!

(btw the fastest serve was richard's 203kph.... i was the one doing the radar gun ;)

(bbtw, juan carlos finally turned up late this afternoon for a stroll around the courts)

01-11-2004, 10:10 AM
Awwwwwww *insert heart here*

That is sooo good that Richard qualified...he played some awesome tennis this weekend and he is well worthy of a spot in the main draw!!! It will give him alot of confidence too I think!!!

Yay for Richie

01-11-2004, 10:21 AM
guess who has it on tape!!! :D :D :D

01-11-2004, 10:48 AM
heee........ so they actually showed the tennis today? crossing over to adelaide and back? .... and how did i perform on camera ?? ;)

01-12-2004, 07:24 AM
yeah they showed his match after the Adelaide final and i was taping it coz i was out...luckily for liz!

01-12-2004, 08:11 AM
it's a truly excellent match... for a qualie, lol.... i hope the broadcast did justice to the atmosphere !!!! i saw richard practise today but bc he's 'next door' to arnaud.... well, arnaud took precedence and (sorry liz) richard had been totally ignored by Via....

He better be able to play Melbourne. Ohh why ohh woe

01-13-2004, 09:06 AM
a volunteer on that court told me that he was ill after playing only a few games .... a trainer looked at him and then called in a doctor... the doctor saw him all white in the face and then advised him to quit....

funnily enough, mere minutes later i saw him at the balcony above court 2 where i was... he looked ok to me.

it's very disappointing, the tournament was actually looking forward to him playing todd reid.

01-13-2004, 09:25 AM
Oooohhh thank you...yeah I found out that it was heat exhaustion so that is probably why he was looking ok a little later. Im just happy it was nothing overly serious!!!

He seems to have alot of problems with the heat though...which isn't good at all

01-13-2004, 09:30 AM
no....... but i dunno. sunday was quite hot too.

01-13-2004, 09:50 AM
Mmmm....ohh well....at least he doesnt have a broken ankle or anything

01-13-2004, 10:15 AM
liz...... where did u find this 'pin-up boy' pic of richard??? there's something very aussie about it, lol!!!....

it's now pouring cats and dogs here, no more heat problem tomorrow, i don't think.

01-13-2004, 10:40 AM

Nah they are scans from the new French Tennis Mag......if you want to see the other ones....go to my site *pulg plug plug*......Vale sent them to me....aint she a doll?!!!! :)

02-09-2004, 09:12 PM
thanks,Liz! :hearts: I had not read your post til today!

I re-opened this thread just to say that Richie is playing in Vina del Mar and loses to Gaudio in 3 sets.

a bad start of the year for him

02-09-2004, 09:42 PM
oh no :(

02-09-2004, 10:14 PM

at his current level, he is likely to be bounced off first rounds at tour level tourneys..... there's a reason for playing satellites/futures..........

btw..... i just discovered yesterday that camille was playing in two small women's satellites (or whatever they are called in wta) in southern china in december. i wonder if arnaud went with her at all ????????? hehe..... most frenchies aren't too familiar with the orient given the locations of their regular tourneys.

02-10-2004, 09:56 PM
this was on yahoo!:

No. 4 Gaston Gaudio of Argentina had a tougher time against 17-year-old Richard Gasquet of France before pulling out a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory. Gaudio was runner-up here in 2001 and reached the semifinals last year.

that makes the loss a bit more respectable, doesn't it...

02-13-2004, 01:21 PM
It does....I was suprised that he actually won a set....but I dont know....he should have been in the main draw at IW and Miami already but no, he is going to have to quallify now.....*sigh* Im not even going to start about this boys current situation...it gets me depressed more and more each time.

allez richie

02-14-2004, 10:02 PM
richard will play verdasco first round in buenos aires. good luck richard i hope he'll get through a round at least...

masters tourney draws are the toughest actually to get in.

02-14-2004, 10:49 PM
liz,have u seen?richie vs fernando...LOL :p

good luck Richie,u deserve all the best! ;)

02-14-2004, 11:32 PM
 OHHH GOD!!!

It's a rematch form Sydney....WHY OHH WHY....

I am going to be unfaithful and give Nando the edge....as it is on clay...but you never know...since Richie's parents have forced him to become a clay court specialist....wonderful things might happen.

02-15-2004, 02:07 AM
*sigh* Richard has dropped from #93 to #104....interestingly enough Nando is #105

02-15-2004, 04:31 AM
Nando is it now? lol

i hope richie can beat him again! then may have to play kat's filipo!

02-15-2004, 05:41 AM

Yeah, we are on a pet name basis now ;)

Did anybody see Gasquet-Calleri? I'd love to see a match report on this one.

02-19-2004, 05:11 AM
I dont think anyone here saw it...i'm not sure where Buenos Aires was actually shown but yeah Richard def Calleri 7-5 6-2!!!! I thought he was going to win...:D Straight sets too thats really good!! He plays Nicolas Massu next round.

02-19-2004, 05:32 AM
I just checked all these sites and none of them have ANYTHING about the match!! Not even a mention that he won, nothing!!! I actually find that really surprising but anyway

Chloe le Bopper
02-19-2004, 05:40 AM
I would think there would be a little more ink about it, yeah. Mind you, Calleri isn't exactly... Ferrero or something. But still.

The match was shown in Argentina at least. My friend watched it, and i got a couple comments from her. Apparently he just outplayed Calleri. I'm a fan of Calleri, so my first question to her was "wtf did Calleri do wrong?" and she said "nothing"... so that's good for Richard ;) She was impressed with how well Richard changes pace.

I've still never seen him play

Question - I was reading some gasquet sites, and have to ask... um, is it my imagination, or is there a tiny bit of Nadal resentment among a few of the fans? I literally mean a few... like, the majority just talks about Richard. But it's hard to miss the "I hope he destroys him when they play!" and "nadal is just a basher, not aplayer like richard!" comments that people make. What is the deal with that ,exactly?

Chloe le Bopper
02-19-2004, 05:41 AM
Uh, amusingly enough, one of the posters who seemed to hold a little erm, resentment against Nadal, has suggested many times that they play doubles together

*sigh* Richard has dropped from #93 to #104....interestingly enough Nando is #105
Any idea what this tournament is going to do for his ranking? :)

02-19-2004, 07:12 AM
i knew nothing.. nothing..... didn't know richard was still 'alive' lol....

richard and rafael have both been much hyped by tennis media in the last two years, and rafael so far has turned out to be a real deal.... maybe some fans think they have bet on the wrong horse, hehe....

richard still has a long long way to go so i am not that bothered with the 'race'.

02-19-2004, 08:38 AM
congrats Richie! Keep it going! :yeah:

02-19-2004, 12:23 PM

Thanks for that Rebecca....it's good to hear!! It's amazing how well he can play, and how bad he can play, there isn't really a middle ground for him...so this is very good!

02-19-2004, 12:24 PM
Gasquet: “ This is a great win for me. I came here I had no confidence, I hadn't play like this in a long time. Everything was great tonight, the court, the public, the opponent. I respect Calleri a lot, he is a great player who hits the ball hard.”

“I am more interested in playing good tennis than in the victory. It is great to be here. The level of players is so high. It is great for me to be practicing with such players and be playing against them in tournaments. I can only benefit from this experience.”

02-19-2004, 09:32 PM

First Quarter Final for Gasquet
For the first time in his career, Richard Gasquet is in the Quarter Finals in an ATP tournament. In Buenos Aires, he has caused an upset, beating the number 5 seed Agustin Calleri.

Far from France and far from all the pressure, Richard Gasquet continued his run in the South American tournament, beating two clay court specialists. Beaten in the first round at Vina del Mar in Chile, the young French hope, at 17 1/2 years of age, has qualified for the quarters at Buenos Aires.

Its the first time that Richard, who has been accompanied by his father, has won two consequetive matches on the ATP circuit (not including qualifications). After beating Spaniard Fernando Verdasco, Richard has been playing a good tournament so far and played a big match against Agustin Calleri, who is ranked 21st in the world.

Richard's next round match will not be any easier and will play 3rd seed Nicolas Massu who is also 14th in the world. He could be joined by Olivier Patience who playes Acasuso in the second round.

02-20-2004, 11:07 PM
ok i didnt realise he's goign to have to play guillermo next lol

Gasquet (finally)

De Sports.fr

Gasquet has finally started to prove his critics wrong. The French boy has qualified for the Buenos Aires semi finals after a very intense match against
Nicolas Massu which he finally won 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. For the first time in his young career, he has won three consequetive matches in an ATP tournament. In the semis, he will play Guillermo Coria, the number one seed.

The victory was a huge relief.

Yes, Richard Gasquet knows how to play tennis.
Yes, Richard Gasquet knows how to fight out of difficult situations.

Richard is going to remember this tournament for a long time to come. Most of the players competing here are Spanish or South American. And then there's this young French boy who no one has expecting much from. The same boy who didnt know what to think after his performance at the Australian Open and after his pathetic separation from Tarik Benhabilès, whom the Federation forced him to collaborate with.

Accompanied by his father, Gasquet is far from France and from eager journalists following his every move. AFter Vina del Mar in Chile, where he lost first round but was able to steal a set before going down to Gaudio, the Gasquet is doing well in Buenos Aires.

He has already played a huge tournament here and for the first time in his career has won three consequetive matches in tournaments 'which actually count'. He's in the semis and will have to play another prodigy, Guillermo Coria. But that's a whole other story.

The 'Biterrois' knows how to savour victories. After beating Spaniard Verdasco and Argentine Calleri, two clay courters, he has caused another upset beating Nicolas Massu. A player who had a big 2003 winning 2 tournament and reached 3 finals- one of which was in the TMS Madrid tournament and helped him finish 18th in the world.

It was an agressive and courageous Gasquet who came onto the court. He dominated the start of the match and won the first set quite easily 6-3. He started the second set in the same manner but the Chilian fought back to win the set 6-4. It seemed that Richard had lost all the momentum and was unable to fight back; he was disapointed with losing the second set. Massu took the early advantage in the third set to lead 4-2. But Gasquet did not give up.

It was his way of responding to his critics who have been on his back for the last few weeks. Gasquet found the courage to break back and to level the third set. He was back in the match. With an intensity that he usually lacks, he broke to avoid taking the match into a final set tie break. He has promised this for a long time. This match was something to savour and remember. Maybe this will be the break through tournament. The one he has been promising for a long time.

02-21-2004, 03:09 AM
what do these journalists know? i've personally seen richard fought hard and won, more than once, some 3-set matches. though they were qualifiers, not main draw. his problem may be that he isn't very consistent.

the fact that he is so far away from the rest of the tennis world may have helped.

well but it will be GUILLE next.... so which side are we on ?? ;)

02-21-2004, 10:46 AM
i know which side i'm on!!

02-21-2004, 10:27 PM
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) -- Top-seeded Guillermo Coria beat France's Richard Gasquet 7-6 (1), 6-1 Saturday to advance to the final of the ATP Buenos Aires event.

- was that your side, esther? lol

richard has had a dream run this week... but guille is still a master in clay and too good.

02-21-2004, 11:02 PM
Euuuhhh bah humbug

Your right Via....didn't see him beating Gullie either...this time I was actually right  But we cannot complain, Richard has made a breakthrough....we can only hope he does not have a brain fade for the rest of the year!!!!!

02-22-2004, 01:05 AM
:aparty: for richard! yeah he didnt get to the final, but who would have thought hed get to the semis?!!! whats going to happen to his ranking?

i was right with my theory that french articles dont come until the next day our time because the europeans are sleeping! will have to wait until tomorrow/later tonite but theres some more from before the quarters..

02-22-2004, 01:44 AM
theres these but they are all the same:

02-23-2004, 03:38 PM

Well, finally I have uploaded the pictures I took in ATP Buenos Aires in this thread:

Since last week Richard is one of my favorite players! He signed me an autograph, and he plays excellent!
I have seen some fans in this msg board very surprised when he defeated Massú and arrived to semifinals. I can say that it is not a surprise, he plays amazing, he will be a top ten in about 12-15 months.
I saw him live in 3 rounds, he is excellent. Coria is in his best moment but Richard almost won first set in semis. Congratulations to all the french fans, you have a golden boy here! I admire him too much since now.

Somebody that I chat asked me the other day "uh... who exactly is it that Gasquet beat today?" because he read "Ferreiro" and couldn't decide if he could be extremely impressed because this was clearly a typo, or if it was just another of the Ferr- gang :D

02-27-2004, 10:11 AM
haha ..Ferr-gang

02-28-2004, 03:52 AM
even FE-derer sounds the same when they translate him to chinese. all in the same family, with the same surname...... very funny.

03-01-2004, 10:16 PM
OMG Richard frustrates the shit out of me. That 2nd set was an absolute joke, I am very suprised at how he played in the 3rd after playing so freaking bad.

Ohh well - he won, next it will most likely be Carlos. *torn*

03-05-2004, 05:04 AM
He finally lost in 3 sets (after winning the first set  )

Liz, how did he play ?

03-05-2004, 09:41 AM

04-12-2004, 07:40 AM
massu isn't in his best form lately! is richard just back from injury? there's always a chance.......

04-12-2004, 07:53 AM
Yah - Richie has been off for the last 2 weeks with tendonitis so it is always hard to tell whether or not it has completely settled down...as for Massu, I know he has sucked as of late...but you can never shun him when it comes to playing on clay....but ohhh well ALLEZ RICHIE!!!!!!

04-12-2004, 08:29 AM

Richard won 0-6 7-6 7-6! Following the live scores and seeing him waste one chance after another makes me think of Amélie Mauresmo. Talented but ...

Go Richard! Beat Nadal!

04-14-2004, 08:16 PM
Exactly...talented but...!! Big problem in his head (Amelie too...) :(

Well, he won today so it's good though even if I don't undrestand the score ...he's going to play Nadal ? Good test..

04-14-2004, 08:35 PM

Tom Selleck look alike Di Pasquale is playing after a year absence due to injuries. Last week in his first tornament he made it to the semis of a futures tournament. This week he went up a grade and was defeated in the final of a challenger tournament by fellow U.S. Open Junior champ Gilles Muller.

I'm not quite sure that I've seen the Tom Selleck that looks like darling DiP, but the one that used to be on the telly bears no resemblance whatsoever.

Sad sad story is that pauvre DiP lost ALL of his points and had to start back on the tour with a "0." I give him so much credit for having the strength and will to come back! (He also lost Adidas and from what I've heard through the grapevine, his contract with IMG.)

(he's my FAVE Frenchy, btw....) AAAllllllez DiP!!!!!

he's not playing!

How do you know that?!

Well yes Arnaud does not look quite like Selleck but he does have a few similar features such as the eyes. As for his ranking, he should not worry since he can look at Haas or Ivnaisevic at Wimbledon for inspiration. He is not my favourite player-out of the current French crop i prefer Gasquet but I admire his hard work-take that Rios!

the sainte victoire website makes things quite hard for me, to find news and stuff (can't even let me cut and paste to the translator...) but i can't see anywhere that richard isn't playing? he's still in the draw.

tom selleck..... i vaguely remember, he has bushy eyebrows? (apart from the moustache) just lots of dark hair. i can't see how he looks like the tall arnaud either??

04-27-2004, 01:51 AM
Well....clearly he did'n't withdraw because he beat Jean Rene Lisnard 6-4 6-1 in the first round....go Richie go!!

04-27-2004, 03:51 PM
Yep and its a DiP-Richie match up next....

Allllleeeeezzzzz DiP!

04-28-2004, 05:48 AM
and his wrist?

04-28-2004, 06:39 AM
I don't think his wrist is a problem...other wise he wouldn't be playing!! Let us just hope he isnt being stupid and playing before it is fully healed.
Allez stupid!!!!!!

04-28-2004, 06:11 PM
against who is he playing? why stupid... is he learning for his driving licence?

04-28-2004, 11:42 PM

the aix website doesn't work all that well. there isn't any order of play is there? and why is the forum so quiet....

04-29-2004, 01:24 AM
against who is he playing? why stupid... is he learning for his driving licence?

I say Allez stupid now becuase I have spent one too many late nights staring at scoreboards only to see him lose a match. Tiredness and frustration are not a good mix.

As for the website, it's enough to give someone an epileptic fit with all that flash....I do not like it at all.....

Via, there should be an order of play somwhere on the ATP site in pdf format....go to challengers and you should find it.... :)

04-29-2004, 02:28 PM
Dip beat Richie 7-5 6-3....grrrrrrrrr *unimpressed*
