Maybe not, but we're still one of the best teams in the NFL and certainly the NFC, although not according to the books who have got it badly wrong.

Good news for the Giants is that they will get 9 more wins according to the stats. Thursday opening games are in there 7th season, and the last 6 teams who have won the opener have won 10 games and made the playoffs. There's a start Giants fans.

Giants have a good schedule this year. Winning 10 is the minimum in my eyes, think we have a shot at 11 or 12.

I had a bad feeling about it, but the whole drive was not good enough from San Diego D. Carolina didn't score an offensive TD all game and then do it at the end, like that. Really caps off a bad 24-36 hours for me.

yeah that was defintely not good enough, i even thought Carolina was making a big mistake not taking the TO and losing a lot of time, come on that last pass should had never found a receiver that was fucking terrible

I was amazed and delighted they were doing that, thought they were totally blowing their chances. Chargers just had to make one stop out of two desperation plays for Carolina and they couldn't do it. 23 yards away with 6 seconds on the clock and 1 TO? SD have to be better than that.

Great catch at the end, but 2 DBs can't get a hand on that!? Piss poor.

It is a tough break. However, taking the Pats at 3's at the start of a season in a sport where season ending injuries are a weekly occurance was a major risk not worth taking for anyone. If the Pats had the kind of season many would expect from them, you'd still be able to get them at anywhere between 11/10-5/2, depending on exactly how the season may have gone.

It's not like backing say the Steelers, Giants or Saints in September at 20's plus and then seeing them backed down to 10's or lower once the playoffs start. At that level, the differential is worth taking because the price differential between now and later is likely to be significant. That wasn't going to be the case with the Pats, they were too short to back.

And now that bet is all but a goner. Yes, Cassel may come in and do what Brady did when Bledsoe went out, but you wouldn't want any of the Pats now at 5's would you?
