full of drama, great shots and suspense, the crowd was literally on their toes...Blakes's backhand is still a liability, he can't hurt you from there, but what a monster forehand! Sometimes he would even go for too much and make easy errors from the forehand side...Hewitt on the other hand was in his usual backboard style, it is extremelly difficult to make winners on this guy and he mentally drains out his opponents...Congratulations to both guys!

Well I'm recovered from Marat's loss and I can thank LLeyton and Tommy Haas for that.

Blake was absolutely spectacular. I think in a few years he will be contending for #1. America's been dying for a tennis superstar well we have him now.

Very good match.
James got beat on the LACK of consistency on his attacks.
That was exactly what Hewitt did best. He was always where the ball was gonna be hit.
Blake had to play outstanding tennis to win two sets.
Hewitt was not even close to his best.

It can develop into an even greater matchup when Blake gets more maturity.

I think anytime you can take the #1 player in the world to 5 sets, you know you've played well. James should be proud. He didnt cramp, he didnt give up, he hung in there and fought like hell to the end. And Hewitt was very composed the whole time. IMO both guys won that match.

Thats a good point. They were very friendly during it. I remember seeing both of them clapping each others shots, and they appologized all the time when something lucky happened. Also, in the end, they had a longer chat than normal in the net.
Claps to both for the great match and for being so classy.

But I'm glad James put up such a great fight :) One of these days..

if you are referring to some posters in the WTA board, forget it, those people only like to see what fits in their agenda...

Blake was apologizing for how badly the crowd behaved towards Hewitt...that's classy. I think Blake will be more accomplished than Roddick in the future, he is very talented.

It was an excellent match...I'm glad Hewitt won though;)!! Hewitt should have won the fourth set, but he blinked and Blake was ready for it. He really believes in himself and that is 3/4 of the battle in my opinion. I noticed Blake was scrambling just as well/fast as Hewitt does when he was on the defensive...very well-played and entertaining match.

It was a great match & I'm pleased I taped it.
Next year James should win if they meet again.
He needs to polish up some of his game, but his net game is coming along nicely, but it should have given him a lot of confidence.
