Blake or Roddick

After seeing how well Blake played today, and how he was mixing up his shots and serves, I was thinking that he will possibly have a better overall career than Roddick. Granted Blake is a couple of years older than Roddick, but he just seems to understand tennis better. Blake held up well today.

He shows way more talent on the court than Andy that's for sure. We'll see in a couple of years which of the 2 will have better results.

James Blake (and Taylor Dent) without a doubt.

They will both achieve more than Roddick in the next 10 years.

Taylor Dent? I have to disagree there.

Oh God, now people are gonna start further bashing Roddick by claiming Blake is a brighter star than him. That's not fair. Who says they need to be compared anyway.

I am not bashing Roddick, I just feel that Blake has a slightly better game than Roddick and seems to be more mature. Roddick can certainly change my mind during this Open, but I feel that Blake held up very well today. Roddick has been getting all of the press in the US and perhaps a little competition with Blake will spur him on to improve the areas that still need work.

No Sophie, you are not bashing him. But this has become the new way of semi-bashing Roddick: by constantly raging against the press and saying Blake will be better than him. I mean, everyone's going to agree with that statement anyway. How many times have they been compared in the last month?! This is what I have been seeing and hearing for the past month:

"Blake is better than him anyway"

...is that necessary?!

Kim and Justine don't get this-- instead, they got articles where they were both the feature story... how positive

The future was bright in 2002, no Federer, no Nadal, no dominance. Anybody could win anything almost any week.

I do enjoy seeing posters that joined in 2010 and 2008 respectively, trying to pick on their tennis forum tribal elders. Just remember how silly your posts will look in 10 years...

Also, there should be a rule that says you need to be a member of MTF for atleast 5 years before you can dig up threads that existed before you did/before you started watching tennis.
