What First... Federer Back to No.1 or Djoko No. 2 ?maconick 08-02-2008, 09:11 AM What will come first...? mods add a poll plz. Sebby 08-02-2008, 09:14 AM Djoker #2 and don't ask me why, it's just a feeling. groundstroke 08-02-2008, 09:16 AM Federer back to number 1. Allez 08-02-2008, 09:20 AM Jester first to number 2 and then briefly number 1 and then perhaps Roger back to number 2. He's not getting back to number 1. jcempire 08-02-2008, 09:23 AM Federer back to number 1 Impossible, This year or next Djok would take No 1, but it's Roger. Fed down to No 3. This is future, I mean next year. you can't disagree with the future Foxy 08-02-2008, 09:46 AM Djoke to number 2. I said Roger would be n3 back after AO2008. DJoke is already ahead of Ego King at the race. It looks like he wins Cinci this year and the situation gets even nastier for the ex-number-1. KitinovRules 08-02-2008, 09:48 AM Faker will be out of top 5 after AO 2008 Grunge 08-02-2008, 12:08 PM Faker will be out of top 5 after AO 2008  :cuckoo: mr_burns 08-02-2008, 12:26 PM Faker will be out of top 5 after AO 2008 no way, with 2 slam finals and two safe TMS finals fed will take the no back next year at the same time, cannot imagine that nadal will defend all the points he earned and fd can improove in the spring season Black Adam 08-02-2008, 12:29 PM Djokovic will end the year at number 2. I think Nadal will clinch year end number 1 when Madrid rolls along. finishingmove 08-02-2008, 12:36 PM again: 1 Nadal, Rafael (ESP)............. 1055 0 14 2 Federer, Roger (SUI)............ 686 0 12 3 Djokovic, Novak (SRB) .......... 674 0 12 4 Davydenko, Nikolay (RUS)........386 0 15 novak will be infront of fed after cincinnati and he only needs to perform better than federer until the end of the year. as for federer ever regaining no.1 , who knows... LocoPorElTenis 08-02-2008, 01:00 PM Sadly Djokovic will be number 2 very soon. As others pointed out, he's already surpassed Federer in the race, and given their current forms he should do better (possibly much better) than Federer in the rest of the season. MaryX 08-02-2008, 01:45 PM Faker will be out of top 5 after AO 2008 Oh, there is something to live for in next few months, then :) MacTheKnife 08-02-2008, 01:51 PM This is actually a good question. I would not be at all surprised to see Fed drop to three before (if) he pulls it back to together again. As for regaining #1, who knows, the next year or two should be extremely interesting in tennis. I think there are some ringers out there right now that could shake up the "fab 3" a little bit and we'll just have to see if they have the nerve to compete at that level day in day out. NicolasKiefer44 08-02-2008, 04:07 PM Fed will be #1 again. I don't know when, but he will, and Joker won't gain that many points to overtake Fed. I doubt Joker will defend his US Open final. Joker will lose his place after the AO of 2009. He won't defend. babuska6 08-02-2008, 04:47 PM Novak will be number 2 I feel it!:D DhammaTiger 08-02-2008, 06:40 PM no way, with 2 slam finals and two safe TMS finals fed will take the no back next year at the same time, cannot imagine that nadal will defend all the points he earned and fd can improove in the spring season It's like a broken record every year same prediction, "no way can Nadal defend all the points", but ......... Foxy 08-02-2008, 06:43 PM no way, with 2 slam finals and two safe TMS finals fed will take the no back next year at the same time, cannot imagine that nadal will defend all the points he earned and fd can improove in the spring season It's like a broken record every year same prediction, "no way can Nadal defend all the points", but ......... He doesn't need to defend all the points. It looks like he could make a huge gap ahead at the end of the year which should keep him safe and there would be some margin for failures. ChinoRios4Ever 08-02-2008, 07:47 PM Djoko to #2 later this year ;) Fed will back on track next year. SheepleBuster 08-02-2008, 08:00 PM Faker will be out of top 5 after AO 2008 Right. By AO 2008, do you mean Arabian Open or something cause Australian Open was like a year ago ding dong! SheepleBuster 08-02-2008, 08:03 PM By the way, I heard Chris Fowler talking about a rumor that Federer is going to retire at the end of the year. Is that even true? or was he just bs'ing like always. rofe 08-02-2008, 08:30 PM Novak is better positioned to get to #2. I don't see Fed getting back to #1 this year. star 08-02-2008, 08:33 PM again: 1 Nadal, Rafael (ESP)............. So if Federer falls to number 3, can we expect the same moaning about whose half he falls into as we do now about Djokovic? raven gypsy 08-02-2008, 08:34 PM By the way, I heard Chris Fowler talking about a rumor that Federer is going to retire at the end of the year. Is that even true? or was he just bs'ing like always. I don't want to hear talk like this. Fed himself has said he wants to continue through the 2012 Olympics. I'll trust what I hear from the horses (or GOATs ;)) mouth. raven gypsy 08-02-2008, 08:36 PM So if Federer falls to number 3, can we expect the same moaning about whose half he falls into as we do now about Djokovic? Good one :D Black Adam 08-02-2008, 08:41 PM I think that the main fight at TMC will be for the number 2 spot, between Djokovic and Fed. Fed's intention is to retire on his turf, aka Wimbledon, at the Olympics in 2012. But if there is a chance that Wimbledon will no longer be his turf by then, he might call it quits. If he gets a guy like Cahill as his coach and gets in Touch with Tony Robbins, he might have an end of career a la Agassi. star 08-02-2008, 10:17 PM I think that the main fight at TMC will be for the number 2 spot, between Djokovic and Fed. That seems like a good time to retire. To me, it would be surprising if Federer retired now I think he's enough of a competitor and has a high enough opinion of his own abilities to want to fight back. I think Federer will be around the top of the game for 2 to 3 more years. It just depends on how he weathers not being number 1. maconick 08-03-2008, 01:10 AM Djokos won this now platinum 08-03-2008, 02:32 AM Djoko will be #2 soon.. Nadal will finish the year as the #1. Monofed will never get the #1 back. Next year Monofed could drop to #4..... lose the #3 to Murray. Xristos 08-03-2008, 04:50 AM Novak will finish the year #2. Kolya 08-03-2008, 05:10 AM Djokovic No. 2 first. Halba 08-03-2008, 05:36 AM djoko needs a usopen grand slam victory, olympics gold and another victory to get into no.2 before AO2009 jcempire 08-03-2008, 06:13 AM djoko needs a usopen grand slam victory, olympics gold and another victory to get into no.2 before AO2009 If Roger fail before QF of USOPEN and no titles for rest of year, Djok easy to get to No 2 by end of year jcempire 08-03-2008, 06:14 AM He doesn't need to defend all the points. It looks like he could make a huge gap ahead at the end of the year which should keep him safe and there would be some margin for failures. You read in my mind, fully agree Knightmace 08-03-2008, 07:09 AM Fed back to No 1 HNCS 08-03-2008, 07:21 AM this is essentially actually asking if Federer will be No.1 first, or no.3 first. I don't know, for me, no.2 is already a shock in itself, i don't think i can handle no.3 at the moment. and plus i do believe him becoming no.1 again will happen sooner. DUN I LOVE 08-03-2008, 08:23 AM Djoker no.2 potres 08-03-2008, 08:33 AM novak no 2. although i do think fed will be no 1 again at some point :) MILOS 08-03-2008, 04:02 PM Djok no.2,but not this year Pfloyd 08-03-2008, 07:13 PM At the moment Djoko to #2. As far as we know, Nadal is not gonna lose on clay, which brings me to the point, he should start playing the clay season earlier.... Sunset of Age 08-03-2008, 09:06 PM Somehow I get the impression that we just might have to wait a little longer for Djoko to become #2 than so many people over here seem to expect. PiggyGotRoasted 08-03-2008, 09:15 PM Somehow I get the impression that we just might have to wait a little longer for Djoko to become #2 than so many people over here seem to expect. Wonder why you would think that? Black Adam 08-03-2008, 09:20 PM At the moment Djoko to #2. As far as we know, Nadal is not gonna lose on clay, which brings me to the point, he should start playing the clay season earlier.... I would rather he played Rotterdam to improve his Indoor and Fast court game. The number 1 needs to be a threat everywhere. JolánGagó 08-03-2008, 10:06 PM Muzza N.2 will be first. freeandlonely 08-03-2008, 10:14 PM Faker will be out of top 5 after AO 2008 Even he try hard to lose all these points, but look what an amazing bloc No.4~No.10 are.:o No offense and I like some of them, but don't feel this scenario changes dramatically any time soon. Maybe Murray can be a solid No.4, if not higher, not sure. | |
