Without Djokovic and Nadal it would be so much better.

What can you do when the entire top 10 is playing like crap except for Nadal and Murray? :o

Biggest mug era ever.

Karlovic, Gulbis, Koli are all good players at times.

They've made it this far so, can't blame them for that.

Amen, it's given me the chance to have a look at some different players on the court instead of the same old, same old. Opened up quite nicely for Murray as well, which is a nice bonus :)

Well I wouldn't exactly call Karlovic, Gulbis and Moya mugs...they can be really handfull when their game is on, especially on hardcourt

Actually on MTF all players are mugs - one bigger than the other ;)

It's a great line-up actually. With Nadal, Djokovic and Murray you probably got the three players that will dominate the next few years. And rest aren't mugs.

Edit: It would be funny if Nadal didn't make it though.

I think we should start taking Gulbis seriously. There was a time when we all guffawed at Djokovic too.

it is nice to see some new names making it to the qf.
i'm getting tired of same old names in the masters event.
but still Djoke and Nadal are in the quarters otherwise it would have benn a perfect event. ;)

No. It's 2008 with this year we can't expect anything less than it.

yea I only noticed him at USO last year and thought he was worth a bet so I placed a few for RG this year and I made quite a lot of money :D he's a little erratic and I think his backhand needs quite a bit of work but I could definitely see him as a future top 10 player.

...on topic though, I'm uber happy with the QF :) It's about time these so-called "Mugs" stepped up their game and really pushed the top seeds. I was so pleased with the Women's Wimbledon this year-minus the final  it was just refreshing to see lesser-known players in the later stages and I would've loved it if Zheng could have won it but whatevs she did the whole continent of Asia proud :)

paris 04 was worse. they had mirnyi, soderling, stepanek, lopez, canas and massu in the line-up. :o

i'm faily sure paris has had its fair share of crappy quarterfinals over the years anyways. the same goes for hamburg to some extent.

What a joker you are. When Paris was carpet, Mirnyi, Soderling, Stepanek and Lopez were the perfect players to be there.

so? they remain mugs, no matter how hard you try. ljubicic for example had every right to win those mm tournaments back in the days as there was a reason why people called him "indoor monster".

that doesn't change the fact that he's a mug though.

Gone are the days of the golden era when Krajicek and Washington were playing Wimbledon finals.
