E-Gul vs Djokovic

Its E-Gul vs Djokovic tomorrow in a big quarterfinal showdown. They have so much in common with Niki Pilic being their coach and mentor in their formative years.

They met on clay at Roland Garros. E-Gul played him close in all 3 sets but lost. Could the result be different on fast hard courts?

Is anybody giving E-Gul a chance? Thoughts on this match? Comments? Smart remarks? Insults? Predictions?

I know one thing: E-Gul cannot play reckless/careless tennis and expect to win. He has to cut down on his unforced errors and play smart tennis.

Ernests Gulbis. Did you renamed his name? If so what does it mean? Must be a reasonable, racional reason. E-Gul, E-gulb, Egg?

In previous post 5 times E-gul, Try more.

Should be a good match. Novak should win.

Apparently Gulbis used to kill Djokovic whenever they played sets during practice in the academy. I recall Djokovic saying his experience would give him the edge against Gulbis when they play for real in tournaments and big occasions during his French Open interview.

I won't be surprised if Gulbis makes here his first really big win.He is dangerous even if Djokovic is in best form, which is not the case.

i think gulbis will win this match, djokovic hasnt looked good at all this summer. the only problem i see with gulbis is that he is just a ball basher with no plan B. gulbis seems on fire this tourney though and i think he will win this matchup.

Yes, you're right. I don't like this Gulbis (no reason) much but he'll be great player. I love his game.

if E-Gul can do the following he wins tomorrow:

1. take care of his serve
2. show better shot selection than he did today
3. return reasonably well
4. patience
5. some point construction before pulling the trigger
6. try to play a cleaner match and cut down on the unforced errors

If/when he does all that he'll not just win one match, he'll be on his way to No1, beating everything on his way, including your beloved clay monster on clay.

Haven't' seen Djoko's match today, but in any case Ernie should have his chances. Hopefully, no long streaks like the one in the second set today. He seems on a roll and the QF and the opponent should additionally inspire him. Expecting a good match.

The Djoker is out for revenge. I can't see anyone, apart Nadal or a Fed on fire being able to stop him. Djokovic in 2.

It is funny how the draw opened up once again to the Faker.

I hope Gulbis will win (I would say chances are 40 to Gulbis and 60 to Djokovich). He can do it because he knows Djokovich damn well since their childhood. They know each other very good and after the match in RG Djokowich himself told, that in future Gulbis will be a tough opponent to anyybody. Let us hope the future has come.

I like Ernie but he is dangerous, no question. Nail-bitingly close tomorrow.
