Clement served for the match twice i think
Cincy R2: Gulbis defeats Clement 6-4 3-6 7-6(5)lalit 07-30-2008, 05:40 PM Clement served for the match twice i think QuicKyMonSter 07-30-2008, 05:41 PM Yes, he served for the match at 5*-4 and 6*-5....Gulbis was lucky I guess. Voo de Mar 07-30-2008, 05:42 PM Yes, Clement served twice for the match and had match point at 5:4. Gulbis has been waiting long since the last win after tight match. Good for his confidence after painful defeats in the previous Masters Series tournaments. Clement has lost 10th match in career after wasting MP. seljanin 07-30-2008, 05:45 PM Match was played on the only court, which is not covered by camera, so I could only follow the livescore. A nervy end of the match. Each player had only one break of serve up to 4:4 in the 3rd set. Then there were 4 breaks of serve in a row. Clement had a matchpoint at 5:4, but didn't take it. Gulbis won with his 2nd matchpoint. Now vs Blake. Bring the ballbashing on, guys! Rrrainer 07-30-2008, 05:46 PM for a guy who's barely 19 gulbis had had a very high number of tight third set tie-breakers in tournaments. most times he ends up losing them, thank got this time he apparently managed to control his shots a bit better. always good to see clement departing. gebl 07-30-2008, 05:49 PM many congrats Ernests NYCtennisfan 07-30-2008, 05:49 PM for a guy who's barely 19 gulbis had had a very high number of tight third set tie-breakers in tournaments. most times he ends up losing them, thank got this time he apparently managed to control his shots a bit better. always good to see clement departing. He has played some tight ones and it's all part of the learning process. He gave one away last week and he snatched one away this week. Keep it going Ernie. r2473 07-30-2008, 05:51 PM Now vs Blake. Bring the ballbashing on, guys! Can't wait for this one. Hopefully it is as entertaining as Blake / Tursonov was in Indy a few weeks ago. Fumus 07-30-2008, 05:51 PM Gulbis is KING! dylan24 07-30-2008, 05:53 PM clement does what the french do best choke. Manon 07-30-2008, 05:56 PM I left coz Clement already 'won' this. Shamless:) Clement. Mashachosen1 07-30-2008, 05:56 PM Gulbis :yeah: lalit 07-30-2008, 05:57 PM clement does what the french do best choke. no one can argue against that my fave is the king of choking Il Primo Uomo 07-30-2008, 05:58 PM Ernie :) *relieved* vincayou 07-30-2008, 06:03 PM well done gulbis selyoink 07-30-2008, 06:04 PM Good win for Gulbis fighting from match point down. Hope he can now take out the American scum Blake. Sebby 07-30-2008, 06:11 PM Nice fight from Lucky Clement. miura 07-30-2008, 06:12 PM Too bad I had to follow the livescore. Seemed like an exciting match. Well done Ernests! Action Jackson 07-30-2008, 06:13 PM When Clement loses, it's good for the game. scoobs 07-30-2008, 06:13 PM Well done Ernie. Always better to win from a losing position than lose from a winning position. seljanin 07-30-2008, 06:14 PM Good win for Gulbis fighting from match point down. Hope he can now take out the American scum Blake. I'm always puzzled, when I read your posts about the American players, you seem to hate every single one of them  What's the reason for that? Action Jackson 07-30-2008, 06:17 PM Ernie, time to give Blake another beating just like in Paris. Guy Haines 07-30-2008, 08:05 PM :D Major relief for Ernests, especially after the meltdown in Toronto. Cl:timebomb:m:smash:ment serving for the match: just what the doctor ordered for Gulbis. Didn't Clement fold in a similar situation against Schuettler at Wimbledon? Good luck to Ernests tomorrow. But he's going to be tired, Blake is going to be out for revenge, and the match is in Blake country. tennisfan444 07-30-2008, 08:30 PM :) TMJordan 07-30-2008, 08:30 PM You better beat Flake, Ernie. oranges 07-30-2008, 08:43 PM Well done, I was afraid the bandanna man will go through watching that live score  Regenbogen 07-31-2008, 01:14 AM Gulbis really played well in the last two games to take the match. Good for him for getting through :yeah: sheeter 07-31-2008, 01:36 AM I've only watched Clement once or twice and I don't get what his weapon is? Could someone enlighten me please? TankingTheSet 07-31-2008, 01:47 AM I've only watched Clement once or twice and I don't get what his weapon is? Could someone enlighten me please? I haven't seen him too much lately but he is known to play well against big servers, very good return. His serve is not bad either. I think his lack of other weapons makes him vulnerable against some types of players. clandis 07-31-2008, 02:34 AM Best match I saw today. star 07-31-2008, 02:34 AM :yippee: :yippee: I'm very happy for Gulbis. I wish him luck next round. ChocGeek 07-31-2008, 04:00 AM I hope he gives Blake a thrashing in the next round. RogandyFan 07-31-2008, 04:54 AM I haven't seen him too much lately but he is known to play well against big servers, very good return. His serve is not bad either. I think his lack of other weapons makes him vulnerable against some types of players. Quite the opposite. Gulbis has a very big serve and huge ground strokes from both wing. To give you an idea of how big his shots are, he was able to hit through nadal in Wimbledon and took a set. jcempire 07-31-2008, 05:41 AM Gulbis EVEN little luck, but this kid is amazing Fedexex 07-31-2008, 07:20 AM welldone:woohoo: seljanin 07-31-2008, 11:37 AM Quite the opposite. TankingTheSet was describing Clement, not Gulbis :) | |
