No doubt FED is one of the greatest players of all time & many big titles to his name:
*12 Slams
*4 TMC
*14 Masters Series
= 30 `significant` titles:worship:

~~~
~~~
However 2008 hasn`t gone according to plan for FED express:sad:
*AO ~ lost SFs
*IW ~ lost SFs
*Miami ~ lost QFs
*MC ~ lost Final
*Rome ~ lost QFs
*Hamburg ~ lost Final
*FO ~ lost Final
*Wimbledon ~ lost Final
*Canada ~ lost Rd.2
*Cincy ~ lost Rd.3
...
so 10 significant titles played so far in 08 & FED still hasn`t won one yet:eek:
<><>
begs the question:: When/where will FED win his next `significant` title:confused::confused:

Rome was a QF, I think.

Cincinatti. His draw is  and he's done the hardest part, surviving the first match, he'll improve with each match from here on. I don't think Rafa can keep up his level a second week running on even faster hardcourts, and Djoko has gone walkabout of late.

in monte carlo he got schooled by nadal and estoril was a joke , davydenko retired when he was a break up in the 2nd set

i didnt think before this that karlovic could beat fed, but this first round was a nice prelude for what could happen

There's noone that is even going to be beating THIS Federer before he reaches the semi finals, and even then, I'd only look to Murray as a possible.

Roger will return to gain an important tilt when he does not touch a Nadal or a Djokovic in the finals. In fact I believe that this year he is not going to gain any "significant" title, the other 2 "Big players" can play a better tennis (each one with is style) that of the swiss in the present, and they are capable of defeating him in any surface however much Roger plays a great tenis in his matches opposite to them. ;)

This week in Cincy Roger is going to lost the final against Nole I believe. :)

I hope soon. But you can never tell. I think this could be a year where he is slamless and Master-series-title-less but hopefully he can pull something out of the bag soon.

2009, Newport

Santoro will come out of retirement to defend his Newport title and lose in an excruciatingly close final to a motivated and revitalized Roger Federer, with the threat of one of the true classics of our time coming being ruined by a tie-break in sight, the tournament referee will be called out and it will be determined that they shall play on in dramatic Wimbledon 5th-set fashion.

Santoro shall dump serve at 19-19 and the roaring tiger that is Roger Federer shall pounce on the opportunity, declaring himself winner of the most prestigious of grass court tournaments.

It will signal the passing of the torch.

2009/Newport
Federer Defeats Santoro - 7-6, 5-7, 21-19 -- you heard it here first.

Those symbols you write with must mean nothing. I always assumed you were communicating with some smart encrypted language seeing how much you use random symbols but seeing you do the following math: 14+4+14=28 :haha: :haha: It would seem that you just can't help yourself but bang at the keyboard without any direction/sense.

To answer the question: Rogi will come back after some horrendous 4 years as a journeyman and win 2012 olympic gold at Wimbledon to end his career on a high note.

he'll defend his estoril and halle titles probably.

in 2012 he might win the kazakhstan master series

Just compare Nadal and Roger's titles so far this year.

Federer: Estoril, Halle
Nadal: ATP Masters Series Monte Carlo, ATP Masters Series Hamburg, ATP Masters Series Canada, Barcelona, London / Queen's Club, Roland Garros, Wimbledon

Newport and the Kazakstan Masters Series would not be significant titles

That isn't 'luck', that is 'stepping it up when you need to'. Give some credits where they are due...

As for the subject - I hope asap. He's in dire need of a good confidence boost, and getting a title again might just give him that extra push he needs to get back in full swing.

He's done when it comes to GS titles he could win a couple more masters series events though. And he will probably win TMC seeing as Nalbandian prolly wont make it and Nadal and Djokovic are horrible indoors.

Welcome to MTF mate. :wavey:

Seriously, i have a feeling that Roger won't win a big one till next season. The RG loss hurt his confidence a lot and the Wimbledon final just kill his head.

But i think he will bounce back in 2009 much stronger, let's see what happens.

RG 2009, crushing Nadal 6-1 6-4 6-2 in final.

Actually not a bad tip, he did win RG 2009 in straights and 6-1 1st set, but you got the opponent wrong. And, of course, it wasn't the next big title - he had something in between.
