For me Isner is one of the biggest disappointments this season. He hasn't improved in the last 12 months since his remarkable run in Washington :o

I would say he actually regressed. However he looked good today, maybe it's the time of the year for him.

Isner served well but Stoppini was suiciding: staying with feet on the baseline to return at Isner's 1st serves is something idiotic. He couldn't even see the ball...

There is nothing to improve, he has NO TALENT. He's just tall. Once players get a sense of his serve, he has absolutely nothing else to work with. He's a total joke.

Stoppini sounds like a magician's name... "And here comes...the AMAZING STOPPINI!"

And while we're at it:

American wild card John Isner set an ATP record by winning all 39 first serve points in his 7-6(2), 6-3 victory over Italian qualifier Andrea Stoppini.

Isner fired 17 aces and only lost nine points, all on second serve, in 11 games. Since the ATP began keeping match statistics in 1991, no player had won more than 35 points without losing one in a match. http://www.cincytennis.com/1/en/news/newsarticle_1368.asp

Isner serve > Karlovic serve?

Isner serve > Karlovic serve?

I'm curious who won 35 straight points on 1st serve.

I'm curious who won 35 straight points on 1st serve.

Andy Ram in Bangkok 2003 against Kenneth Carlsen.
Carlsen won that match 3-6 6-3 7-6(5).
