Gulbis barely took the first set. Good clutchplay from the Latvian.
In the second, Gulbis found his form and cruised through!

For the pendantics, I know Finland is not in the Baltics but still damn close :p

Quite good performance by Ernest, especially in the 2nd set.

Good job, Gulbis. Had trouble closing it out again, but managed it much, much better than in Toronto. Next prob Wawa, which should be a good test.

Jarkko helped him not lose the TB, but the second set he played very good :yeah:. Should be a good match against Stan.

Finland has coast on the Baltic sea so I don't see why it's not a Baltic country.

Good win for Gulbis after the mess that was last week.

I only caught a couple games in the second, but Gulbis was playing some nice tennis. He was showing some great touch off the backhand, whether on drops or approach shots, and the variety was appreciated. Hope he pulls off the upset over Stan.

Well done for Gulbis, Jarkko was potentially tricky for him.

Got on a rough start with errors here and there. Despite that, he managed to get back in action in the 2nd set weakening Jarkko.

Yay! Good Luck Ernests!

Solid win for Ernie. Hopefully he keeps his June form going. This should be his best outdoor surface.
