Why are the Cincy courts faster?

toronto and cincy both have decoturf,so how come each year the surface in cincy is much much quicker than in canada?

I'm not sure what exactly it is exactly in Cincinnati, but can tweak the speed of a hardcourt a lot. For example just what and how many layers of paint you are going to apply. Or in what direction the paint is applied, horizontally or vertically. Underground, exact composition, the hardening itself of the court.

does anyone know if that's still the case?

Less sand in the decoturf used at Cincinnati. The heat also speeds it up some.

I think terms like "Decoturf" or "Taraflex" are simply brand names for several different tennis surface offered by a single company -- in many cases the same brand name is used for surfaces ranging from slow to fast.

Decoturf and Plexicushion are from the same company, but Taraflex is from a different one.

Cincy and Toronto are completely different surfaces. Not only in speed but traction and bounce as well. Cincy is much much lower bouncing.

I believe that the open is quicker than any of the MS. Due to the fact that all there players love quick surfaces

It is hot as hell in Cincy.
It is quite quicker,and I think Toronto has bigger bounce.

Oh and it is humid in Cincy, it is unbelievably dificult to play.

Maybe it used to be but they slowed it down. It is more like Toronto now. The height isn't as much though as Toronto.
