My God, Nole's forehands are flying everywhere.

kalisita

His FH seems gone as well. His timing is completely off. Just go for points and don't worry about how Murray plays.

All Murray has to do so far is be steady. :o Please make him work for it at least!

22 UEs now. Getting more frustrated instead of less. Please hold!

It's just a set

kalisita
08-03-2008, 08:29 PM
First set gone!

31 UEs. In one set! He usually doesn't have that many in an entire match. Now, everyone will be talking about Murray instead of him. After all that trouble beating Nadal after losing 3 times in a row. Now, he's a set away from losing to Murray twice in a row. I hate this new Murray.

neenah
08-03-2008, 08:30 PM
Damn, I'm a jinx :tape: I was saying how I thought Nole would play fine.

But as Raquel says, it's just a set. Although I feel it carried a lot of weight.

Spes
08-03-2008, 08:31 PM
It isn't new Murray. It is the same old disgusting pusher and Novak just can't keep the ball in the court.

Very disconcerting performance. I doubt he can come back from this.

kalisita
08-03-2008, 08:32 PM
It's just a set

You're so optimistic. But, I think it's too hot and he doesn't look as good physically as Murray does. Murray put him under constant pressure and Nole put none on Murray. He doesn't look like he knows what to do. I hope he can keep this set competitive.

savesthedizzle
08-03-2008, 08:33 PM

He really doesn't look ready for battle right now.

Spes
08-03-2008, 08:33 PM
:fiery: Murray is just so annoying. Novak forgot how to beat a pusher all of a sudden. His forehand has completely gone away. He can't make first serves. He looks slow and off-balance.

Just not his day.

*Raine
08-03-2008, 08:33 PM
*sigh* Wake up Nole..

kalisita
08-03-2008, 08:34 PM
Nole doesn't seem to have much belief. Like I said, whatever he tries Murray has the answer. That will make him even more frustrated.

I really hope I'm wrong, though.

Herdwick
08-03-2008, 08:34 PM
I have rarely seen Nole so effectively neutralised - this is worrying. In Toronto I told myself it was because Nole was just playing crap but there's more to it.

*Ljubica*
08-03-2008, 08:35 PM
Maybe the match last night just took much out of him  All he can hope is if Muray starts to choke near to the finishing line - he used to do that a lot - but he's a better player now.

kalisita
08-03-2008, 08:35 PM
I have rarely seen Nole so effectively neutralised - this is worrying. In Toronto I told myself it was because Nole was just playing crap but there's more to it.

I have rarely seen Nole so effectively neutralised - this is worrying. In Toronto I told myself it was because Nole was just playing crap but there's more to it.

Murray's a good player - probably Top 5 on his recent performances. Maybe we just have to accept that just as Nole has the edge on Nadal on hardcourts, Andy has the edge on him. Just a bad match-up or something

On ESPN, they were just saying that if he loses to Murray it'll undo anything he gained from last night's win over Nadal. I'm really scared that they're right.

He needs to do something different on Murray's second serve. That makes me think he's not thinking out there. :help:

I don't see how it could possibly be a bad match-up. Murray has little pace on the ball and it rarely clears the servive line. Novak just has very poor footwork today and can't win cheap points off his first serve because he can't seem to make one. He has just played like complete shit against Murray the past two weeks and it's quite embarassing that he will (most likely) have two straight set losses to him on his record.

I hope he turns it around though. He has two breakpoints. Idemo!

Nole has last night's match to be proud of - commentators on ESPN just said something stupid about how last night's match will lose some of its importance if Nole loses today but I don't feel that way

Yeah, right before Fed asks Andy R if he stole his sandwich :rolls:

No - neither do I, - but I do feel the mental/emotional stress and effort needed to beat Nadal is telling on him today:sad: In a way that is what makes someone like Federer's achievements over the years so amazing - just being able to psyche himself up day after day, week after week without a drop in concentration - it's awesome.

And it's over. Murray was the better player, much more consistent througout the entire match. (the way Nole used to be) At least 2 TBs instead of a break. Though, he gave it to him on a DF.

Nole still has to work on his first serve. I don't know what happened to it. He used to have little problem and lots of aces. Today, 6 aces but 6 DFs! :help: And he was so up and down. I'm used to his consistency.

I'll bet with him I am more depressed. He was laughing and I couldn't speak, breath, talk, I had to take 5mg benzodiazepamin (tranquilizer as you know). Did I deserve such a stress, did my old mother deserve yelling from me coz she called in the begining of the first TB?

I couldn't tell, but I don't think so. He seemed to just being composing himself and trying to get the sweat off.

Murray was definitely more consistent and deserved to win because of that. Nole needs to learn to not be as nervous on final days as he tends to be (I'm sure that's no easy task!) Players tend to take advantage of this against him (like Tsonga in AO, Wawrinka in Rome, and now Murray).

Oh, well. At least he made a better result against Murray today than last week, even though he lost both. He'll figure it out. (It is weird that now Murray is someone he has to figure out how to play now, though.)
