This was much better. Well done!

Good luck tomorrow!!! :clap2:

I hope Ernie's knee will be ok :awww:
I also went to cuddle him

Night everyone :wavey:
See Seljanin post in GM. Great post about this injury.

Or better. He's good guy, he won't mind.

Well, actually his knee has problems since the Davis Cup tie in Macedonia, which was in February. It got a bit more severe after Wimby. That's why he didn't participate in Bastad and wasn't doing anything tennis-related in the time period of 2 weeks after Wimby. I think there were no very serious problems, but perhaps he's feeling his knee a bit after 4 matches on hard court within 5 days.

I think it'll be alright. He needs to rest his knees a little bit. However, he wouldn't have done better today even he had no problems with the knees at all.

You guys were busy in this thread while I was gone :rolls:

How'd Nole do? :D I'm cheering for a Nole/Murray final :rocker2: I'm becoming some sort of Murraytard. It's so odd.

Better but still not AO standard. We are worried about tomorrow.

Think Nole/Andy is everyone's wish here. No offence to Karlovic but I couldn't watch that match tonight and I love tennis. No wonder the public left in droves.

I agree. He's not playing as well as he did during the clay and grass seasons. But, he'll come to play tomorrow, which means Nole has to be completely confident. Now that he's getting his confidence back, I'm worried what would happen if Nadal beats him for the fourth time in a row.

TTC has a QF scheduled for 10 am tomorrow morning. Hopefully, it'll be Nole's match. I watched a stream, but it's not the same as tv. Though, thanks for the streams or I wouldn't be able to see many of his matches. Such as tomorrow's.

Nole-Rafa is scheduled for 7 pm on Center Court tomorrow. ESPN2 will have "live" coverage from 9-11 pm. :( Though, I guess it's just as well, since I won't have to hear Cahill, Fowler, and Gilber fawning and fanboying over Nadal. :)

Bit of a reversal to the Hamburg situation here.

There, both were confident, playing very well, and it was hard to call.

This one is also hard to call because Nole has been a been flat lately though seems to be getting better again this week...and Nadal while confident, is starting to look tired again at the amount of tennis he's played these last two weeks.

On a hardcourt I would have to favour Djokovic to come through but I suspect he'll need to tighten up his game just a bit more or it could be a brutal fight - Rafa will not go down quietly however tired he is.

In the beginning of my vacation I went on their website and wrote down the times they would be broadcasting tennis while I'm here. This morning I went to see what time they would start coverage today and it's 9pm. That means they'd be showing some old replay :(

So I won't be around today, I don't want to find out the result before I watch the match. I'm assuming they'll show Rafa/Nole

Well there's no sadder sight than a young pessimist so good for you.

There's no disgrace at all in losing to Rafa but as they should be rivals for some time now I worry about the H2H. A win on HCs would do Nole a power of good. If he doesn't get it Rafa stands unchallenged on all surfaces and, much as I like him, I don't want that.

arm
08-02-2008, 05:47 PM
Agreed. And Nole is very well aware of that. That's why I trust him and put a lot of confidence on him. He hasn't been at his best the last month but he knows that a win like today's would give him the greater confidence he needs back and the feeling that he is back to old days. :)

He is going for the win and we know that when he really wants something, he has good chances of getting it. :D

It's a really big Buddhist holiday today and my temple is having a huge festival tonight but I need to watch Nole tonight!

I think as long as he gets off to a good start, puts the last 3 losses behind him, and doesn't let Rafa get into his head then he has a really good shot. Rafa is on phenomenal form right now but having said that, beating a player at the top of his game will never do you any harm. If Nole can get a win tonight then I'm positive that it'll give him the push he needs to get him through the Olympics and USO in a strong position and pull him out of this rut. CMON NOLE!!!! I think I wrote in application that besides good knowledge of English, I have basic knowledge of Italian so I have to remind some things...not to embarass myself

Glad you'll be able to watch Nina

Just to say I probably won't be around much this evening - I really do feel tired and got a sore throat (probably coming down with something  ) so I think I need to go to bed and sleep for a few hours in order to be up in time for Nole :) I'll start off just in front of the TV (as usual), but probably end up here half way through when the stress gets too much :o Started watching Ivo/Andy, but I fell asleep on the couch :o

Later - and ajde Nole :)

From earlier tonight.

I didn't read that! :awww: Hope she is feeling better now.

 I just love the film Trainspotting, it's so amazing. Have you ever watched it? And I am willing to buy a poster to my new bedroom like the one in my Avatar. The signature is part of what's written in the poster. :)

Me and Jelena, well, we know he will win. :D (At least we think and hope so!)

Aye - I've seen it several times. It's excellent; blackly comedic, superbly written and acted - Robert Carlyle is awesomely menacing - but a bit bleak for me. Shallow Grave (Danny Boyle's first film) suits me better.

Recommend SG. JP likes TS better than SG though and he's got the CDs as well.

Mind you - have always loved Ewan McGregor in just about anything. He's gone very quiet recently though - keeps going off on motorcycles.

I love him too. :hearts:

Actually my story about TS is quite funny. As you should have already imagined, by the time the film was released I was 6 or 7 years old (1996 right?) so I didn't watch it back then.

A few years later, my ballet teacher always put TS's CD when we were warmin up. So I borrowed both CD's and love them. After that I just had to watch the film and buy the CD's. So, I can say I watched the film because I "met" the soudtrack.

It's probably my favourite film ever. :)

:haha: I just realized the connection now: you, Trainspotting and Scotland!

Of course, you've seen it! How could you not?!

Let me tell you, you, Scots, know how to write good books and produce good films. :worship:

Where the hell is Misha? I haven't seen him all day! And he can't possibly miss the match tonight!

Herdwick
08-02-2008, 11:22 PM
Ah there's no end to Scottish talents - and we managed to populate Canada as well.

Misha dropped in earlier very briefly. But it's Saturday night and Belgrade is famous for its nightlife - he'll be out. When I was there no one seemed to sleep at all - I couldn't keep up.

cmon Nole lift that trophy! what a way it would be to kill 3 birds with 1 stone. break the 3 match losing streak to Rafa, redeem yourself against Murray, and win a trophy! cmon Nole you can do it!

Thanks for the welcome guys, Herdwick, glad you feel the same as now I don't feel too guilty not supporting him. I do feel proud of his achievement but he doesn't seem the most likeable person which is off-putting.

I actually quite like Andy - I can identify with awkward sods, being one myself - and I've been really impressed with his game recently. But I've been a devoted Djokovite now for almost 2 years so tomorrow is no contest.

I'm so happy he won. It sucks that he still has to play another match in order to win the title. Sometimes I wished I didn't follow tennis because there is just not enough time between wins and tournaments to enjoy victories. Oh, well. :)

Again I say, Beat Murray tomorrow!

Think this is just about as good a time as any to make my first post...very glad I stayed up to see the score, really love both players but wanted Nole to win tonight so very pleased with the result. As a Scot I should be supporting Murray but I want Djoko to lift the trophy. Woo!

Welcome from me:wavey: I am Misha (male), the only one here these days. Great username, one letter out and you nick becomes (I don't know in English, only in Serbian)...but great word anyway.
