To the coverage-blessed people out there, how is Nole doing? Has he upped his game (which wouldn't be hard to do from yesterday) or is Seppi just playing poorly?

Seppi hasn't held serve all match. I think Nole is playing better. He's being more aggressive and dominating play. He's taking advantage of how crappy Seppi's serve is. His serve is slightly better than last match, only 1 DF. This is a pretty easy match for him, but let's hope it gets him some more confidence since he is playing with more energy than last match. He'll need to be confident against Gulbis.

Thanks for your response! And I agree, Gulbis will not be an easy match tomorrow (assuming that Nole wins today of course!).

How's life up Mt Teide then?

He is looking much better - moving better and FH is hitting the lines again but Seppi could scarely be playing much worse and is injured. So let's hold the celebrations...Ernie was looking good in parts today.

Hopefully, this will get his confidence up, though. Gulbis also looked inconsistent. It took him 3 to beat Blake today and Acasuso beat him in Toronto in a match he should have won. I agree, it will be difficult, but I'm feeling better about it right now than I was before this match.

I am so glad to hear that. :D Tomorrow I will watch his match! :D My flight is in the morning, so I will be in Coimbra around 1PM. :D If he wins, who is he playing tomorrow?

Mt Teide is great. I have a lot to tell you and I have even been taking special photos to post here -besides the regular ones.

Miss you  ( 5 more minutes )

If you go to his site, you will read that the shop with his products will be opened soon in New Belgrade...so maybe there will be the outfits he wears too :p ;)

I like blue/white combo better...but I hope he completely changes it for USO...last year it was great :)

Raquel, safe trip, talk to you soon

Novak played much better...it will be tough tomorrow, Erno is in good form, but I'm optimistic :)

The orange would be fine with black or white shorts and the blue is rendered tolerable with a white shirt but please not orange and blue worn together :banghead:

We're are stuck with the orange and blue for the USO; there's a green and black combo as well. I preferred the AO outfits.

Light-hearted optimism prevalis tonight anyway. Andy is squashing Dima so Rose will be in deep gloom alas. Jury is still out on Fed but am so glad I don't have to watch Karlovic everyday.

Good evening sweet people :wavey:

First- and most important - Raquel  Sorry I missed you - have a safe journey home tomorrow. Thanks for the PM - will reply by the time you get home

Second - and almost as important ;) Nole :woohoo: Yes Seppi was obviously injured in some way,- but Nole kept his focus, and played as well as he had to to get off court as quickly as possible. A win is a win :) I thought he looked brighter and generally happier - maybe he knows Raquel will be back to cheer him on soon :)

Misha - you truly do not want an orange T-shirt like that? Surely :help: The blue and white one would be much nicer :)

To everyone else - dobro veče :wavey:

Random fangirl moments.............

Dima :help: :sobbing: :awww: Why couldn't you win - you are MUCH prettier than Murray

Sky camaramen - next time Nole changes his shirt - please can you focus on him, and not some boring Trainer in an injury time-out?

Jelena, I want you to buy me one. All of you. Rose, Herdwick, orange? I see red (am I blindless?)

And Rose, Dima, Davydenko and Soderling took all my money again. Like Roger 41.800 last week. I want money!

And did you see umpire made a joke about 'orange' T-shirt'.

 Don't worry - when I first saw that T-shirt I thought it was red too :o I was watching on Bet365 (against Dancevic), and I am saying the red T-shirt, when everyone else is saying it is orange :o No -I missed the Umpire joke

As for betting on Dima - NEVER bet on Dima - I adore him - but he is not predictable - and he has a bad head-to-head against Murray. Bet on Karlovic against Federer - much safer bet.

Yes - I think you're right about Roger. I had mono when I was at Uni - I was really ill for a few months and it took almost a year for me to feel 100%, - and I was obviously not a professional athlete pushing my body to the highest level like he is. I can't imagine how weak he must still feel,- and that has derailed his entire year.

I hope he does come back in 2009 - much as I adore Nole, I would like to see Roger get his record Grand Slams :)

As for Herdwick world - hmmmm - I think I'd prefer the other way around - Nole would so love the Olympic Gold, whereas Roger needs another GS towards his record :) His 14th can then be RG next year - beating Nadal with a triple bagel in the Final :tape: Nole will win the other 3 GS titles in 2009! Back to today's match. I watched the first set and then the 2nd set on tape. He's more relax out there. Of course, having an opponent with crappy serve definitely helped but IMO, he's more confident. He seemed to find his range on his FH and BH. And he definitely has his serve back to about 80%.

Is that based on his match against Seppi?? Ugh I'm getting really annoyed because I keep missing his matches because my shitty job that I want to quit keeps getting in the way :( Anyway that's a relief to hear about his serve being back up to 80%...god the last few matches that I've seen his serve was really worrying-he was barely getting 50%. Actually, come to think of it, I don't think he even got 50% of first serves in against Murray :awww: I just watched some brief highlights of his match today and his body language still isn't normal but he seems a hell of a lot more chilled out and just more like Nole today than I've seen him in weeks :)

Yes, that's my observation from today's match.

His serve is better today and I think he hit more aces than before. May be it's the opponent but the speed, angle and placing are pretty good, not as good as last year but definitely better than the matches in Toronto.

His smile is much better after today's match during the on-court interview. He sounded like he's happy with his performance. He knew he's not 100% but he played better.

Hopefully it won't be too hot when Nole plays - if it's 3rd match on (and they start slightly later than usual today) I imagine it wil start about 6.00pm in the evening their time, which has got to be better than 1.00pm or 2.00pm like the last couple of days. But - why oh WHY has Nadal got the match again? That is do unfair on all the others, and it's not like Lapentti is exactly going to be a great and close opponent for him

Working on the idea that even Rafa must surely be getting tired - he's been Duracell bunny-like since end April - I have a sneaking feeling Andy may get this one.

Am not convinced either Nole or Ernie are consistent or mentally robust enough at present to take Rafa down at present though. Although reasoned analysis says the same about Andy.

but-it's-ok
08-01-2008, 11:56 AM
Its weird on Ernie's forum we have been saying he looks like half-startled,like a deer:awww: Have any of you been lurking there and seen that? And I agree that Ernie needs a lot of work mentally,I think to take it point by point, and not rush into errors,he gets so impatient, thats where Nole has a huge advantage, he has way better ideas how to construct a point tactically and is prepared to hit more balls to get the job done. I just hope for a really good match, with a lovely, friendly ending like in Paris;)

The only worrying thing for purely Nole fans here is that Ernests is in the quarter-finals without playing well:tape:

Think I've only been in Ernie's forum once during RG. But it's a fairly obvious simile so not that much imagination is required.

Rosie and others - please don't be mean. Unless and until no insinuations please - it is not fair and he doesn't deserve them.

Sorry  Strangely, in my last post I was even thinking the "obvious" insinuation - admit I often am, but not on that occasion

So are you cheering for Murray if Nole and Ernie fail?

Misha my darling :wavey::kiss: Are you planning to be our little resident ray of sunshine whilst Raquel is on holiday? Hope the betting people are right anyway.

No, just noticed sawan took some Serb girls under his knees and I don't like it. Anyway Raquel, as far I know, today arrives in Coimbra (Rose, flowers are growing - good thing).

Herdwick - If you mean Andy I want you to know that if not Novak Murray must be winner of this Cinci (wishful thinking maybe but I'm entitle to cheer for him).

I wondered too initially, particularly around the Fuentes expose and trawled for reliable evidence, as opposed to rumour and web conspiracy. I concluded there was absolutely none and this was when I disliked him intensely, ie before Wimbledon 2007. From what I've learned of his character and family it also seems unlikely. Therefore he must get the benefit of the doubt in its best form - anything else is rank injustice.

Will cheer for Andy to get the final certainly - he has every chance now and since I've been blessed with Sky's red button I can get his matches without commentary which helps a great deal! If it's a Rafa - Andy final that'll be difficult - I'll be happy for either one to win - but yes, if Andy plays like he did last week I'll probably come down in his corner.

I wasn't so hungry after all. The plane food sucked, as usual, but I ate a banana I had brought from the Hotel. Actually, the Canarians will kill me if they hear me call that fruit "banana". They say their "bananas" are better so they call them "plátanos". So here is my correction: I ate a plátano.

As I told you before - did I? I think I did, but not sure - the island is very strange and different. Apart from teh language and the love the people show to their land, I never felt like I really was in Spain.

First of all, the climate is wonderful. I never felt cold or hot. It's just amazing! As for the beaches, well the sand is balck/dark, because it is a volcanic island. My parents didn't like the beach - they are used to the Alagarve, Mallorca or Cuba's beaches - and so am I, but I actually liked the beach. It's different. But I am not a beach lover, so I guess that's the reason why I didn't dislike that one. :o

In terms of history and culture, the island doesn't have a lot to offer: just a couple of small and beautiful towns. But in terms of nature, it is simply amazing. The Teide is fascinating, the environemtnt around it, the caves, the rocks of strange shapes... Also the ocean and some outstanding views.

Finally the Hotels, my hotel was a 4* but there were a lot of 5+ hotels in the same region. Mine was pretty cool, but when I dared to enter one of the 5* Hotels close to mine, I felt really poor.:lol:

That pretty much sums it up, I will post some photos when I have them in the computer.

How is everyone around? Are we ready for the match today?

I missed you all a lot.

Welcome back Raquel  You really were so much missed here. Thanks for the little "report" about the Island, and I would love to see your photos.

So the big question is............ are the plátanos really better than the bananas we get everywhere else?

Not sure I'm ready for the match - ready as I'll ever be I guess  How about you? Have you come back brimming with confidence for our man to take the Cinci title?

I was in Costa Adeje near Playa de las Americas. The beach near our hotel wasn't playa de las Americas, was Playa Fañabé (my hotel was Fañabe Costa Sur) but we were pretty near Playa e las Americas. :) It's all in the south.

Rosie's had PC problems.

'An orphaned file is a file in a web that is not linked to any other file in the web. An orphaned file can be any type of file, such as an HTML document, an image, or a binary data file.

An orphaned file is not an unlinked file. There may be multiple links among a whole web of orphaned files. What makes a file an orphaned file is that by following any and all hyperlinks present in the home page, and then following any and all hyperlinks from all subsequent link levels reached from the home page, the orphaned file is not reachable.'

Incidentally, you yourself are pleased to be mysterious today on the smiley front...

There may not be any live Nole matches from here on out on tv in the US if Nole continues to win. The SF for tomorrow is "live" on ESPN2 at 9, but it starts at 7. The final is on ESPN2 from 3-5, but finals start at 12 (though doubles maybe first that would still probably put the singles final at 2)

Rose, here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms400706(VS.80).aspx

How to delete Orphaned Files Permanently

You might want to permanently delete files that become orphaned when a client user deletes an attachment from a work item. For example, a work item might have an attached file that is corrupted or has a virus.

Deleting the file removes it from the work item and the project. The databases still contain the rows for the metadata and content. However, the RemovedDate is changed to the current date and time and the file becomes orphaned. As the database administrator, you can delete the attachment permanently.

Better not say that to Herdwick - in her persona as GlennM she would take you to task about that  (You probably have to read back a page or 3 to see the beginning of the joke) :) My own personal favourite over-used words are "mug" and "choker" though.

The choice of Cincinnati as the location for one of the top tier ATP events is...odd.

No matter how charming it is - they should not have to play in 35C+ heat and 80% humidity - it's ridiculous.

I prefer tennis matches to be decided by skill rather than pure physical ability to withstand heat, and that's the danger at this event.

Don't have to be a Calvinist to think that - I think the same. Nole was good tonight - far FAR better than against Seppi and Bolelli :tape:- but Ernests made way too many unforced errors and ridiculous shot selections. He was extremely erratic, and no way will Nadal be that generous tomorrow night. If Nole plays like he did tonight,I fear it will still be a straight sets win for the soon-to-be-Number One :spit:
