Toronto QF: N. Kiefer def. J. Blake 6-1, 6-2

N. Kiefer basically played better and more solid than Blake. Some good points like the one in the second set 3-2 at Kiefer's bp opportunity. Blake bashed the ball pretty well as usual, not as consistent this time. Well done to kiefer for reaching the SF and well done to Blake overall. Kiefer now dismantle the french pusher.

Kiefer played really well...not that he had to try very hard. James was playing like more of a dumbfuck than he usually does.

One of the best performances by any player I can remember seeing this year. Kiefer was almost flawless, he even got back practically every attacking ball from Blake.

kiefer's game is just lovely to watch when he's on. everything's just amazingly smooth: movement, backhand, forehand, the serving motion, overall such a rock solid player.

even though blake was pretty pathetic today, kiefer would've troubled lots of top10-player with this kind of performance. simon will stand absolutely no chance if kiwi can come up with 50% of today's form tomorrow.

WOW I love it how the media tries to make Blake into a sex symbol LMAO. It's kiefer who is so friggin' hot. Yum that goatee and those calves and cute body. Glad he beat down big butt!!!

Disgraceful performance against a world beater in Nicolas Kiefer

Impressive, really, although only 49% of his first serves went in. The bh return was working perfectly. Enjoyed the hawkeye animation which showed that Blake had less than 2 secs to react. :D

Now an all french Semi final against Simon. ;)

For this entire tournament Blake has looked like he didn't want to be here. It finally caught up with him today. Blake went from never losing a set to Kiefer to losing 1,2 without a fight. :cuckoo: Horrible.

lol. I found that pretty funny because two seconds is a lot of time to react.

That was a complete domination. Blake didn't have any clue to do something different and gave Kiefer lots of unforced errors. But also Kiefer played himself well, he could show almost every facette of his game, drop shot, volley, defense, footwork and court coverage, lobs, serves. All worked really well, I'm really satisfied about the way he played.

i've always wondered why kiefer hasn't done more inroads with his looks over here (and worldwide). does his personality stand in the way or what? i mean, back in 04 or 05 there was this poll they had in tennis magazine that showed the top10 atp hotties - and they missed out on kiefer. how's that possible?

Blake did not want to be there!! The fans should ask for their money back... no fight what so ever :(

Fantastic performance from Kiefer, he has a complete game when he's on song. Blake was woeful, even his forehand was crap today. Kiefer has a hell of a chance of getting to his first Masters final now.

I hope right, but reasonable is to be careful because it's well known that the more of a "pusher" (to pick up the word which is often assigned to Simon) Kiefer's opponent is, the more trouble he has often.

Yeah, was a bit surprising for me as well, but that was obviously not enough time for Blake to position himself well enough to get a clean swing.

Kiefer is probably the best volleyer in the world at the moment. Superb at the net. Although you could probably count the number of players who can volley in the atp on one hand.

Yeah Kiefer played well but Blake just wasn't interested. To be honest Blake has looked like this since the french open, something must be up with him as i've never seen him so low and depressed looking.

Blake should really take that ridiculous headband off, he looks like a bell-end with it on. I'm surprised he hasn't been able to out-manouevre his opponents by laughing them into retirement.

Kiefer obviously wasn't one of those. Good Job Nic, my favourite German after Heidi Klum.

Blake proves once again that he is an absolute disgrace to the game. Shocking he is still in top 10.

Superb match from Kiefer. He was excellent on return on serve and played a very nice all-court game and by the end of the match, he was hitting huge amounts of winners. He is the big favourite in the SF against Simon, he better not screw it up.
