Glad for Andy but would have enjoyed the other outcome too;)

Real shame that Mahut was awful for most of that. Complete contrast to a great performance yesterday. Roddick was average. He'll probably get past Robredo, but a match against Cilic could be interesting.

mahoot didn't match his level yesterday. but still good job in taking andy into the third set.

18 aces, 2 DFs and 34 winners, 24 UEs. Not too bad from Andy. Still too many moonballs, especially on crucial points. But some decent passing shots.

Great to see him win even after losing a TB.

Good good, but even losing a set to Mahut should make some not totally satisfied about this result.

Mahut is garbage. Sorry Mahut fans but he really is. Anyways, Andy had no business losing that second set. He lost it mentally after being screwed, and he was screwed a few more times later on in the set by the challenge system. This match should have been 6-1, 6-3...Mahut never had a chance on Roddick's serve. Roddick's passes/returns were really good when he was focused in the 1st/3rd set.

What else can I say, Roddick ftw!

Curious donations by Andy, I think he just wanted more time on court.

Mugs match. Expected resulted. Never in doubt. This Roddick is good. Fixed. Roddicks sucks without his serve. Stupid Mahut cost me money.

Didn't see the match. Was he really so bad today? Or are you stating it overall?

No I like Mahut, generally. He just couldn't buy a forehand return or clutch volleys when he needed em'. I think yesterday's "emotional" win probably drained him...maybe?

andy engaging in unpleasant conversations with the umpire and the crowd again. :o
Yes, he was being is usual charming self on court - I especially loved the very audible "Bullshit!" he yelled out after the chair umpire's decision on the point Roddick felt should have been replayed :tape: Naturally there was more backchat from him after that directed at Leyhani, none of it complimentary...

While I understand expressing frustration at a bad line call, I'll never condone the way he often chooses to direct it in such a blatantly venomous way towards officials and sometimes crowd members. (BTW I didn't sense Roddick's anger being directed towards the latter today, especially since they mostly seemed to be on his side.)

What did he exactly do? Some trash-talk with umpire? :)

Mahut hit a dtl FH at game point that was called out by the linesperson, but the umpire overruled it. He claimed Andy didn't have a play on it and gave Mahut the point and the game. Andy disagreed, saying he didn't swing at the ball because it was called out before he could do it. He wanted the point replayed, but the ump refused to give in so he called BS. They showed the point on the screen and Andy said, "Did you see that? Are you saying I didn't have a play on the ball?" He just kept that up during the changeover and into his next service game and during the next changeover as well.

Absolutely terrible match from both. Mr. Roddick, a gentleman more and more with age, has an abysmal FH. It must get worse every month.

Mahut does seem to rattle Andy. Remember Queens last year and Mahut lost the matchpoint and then Andy went on to win. Hopefully Mahut will get some spotlights soon - maybe at Metz or Lyon.

I don't think he was being too belligerent with the crowd and most seemed to be on his side that the point should have been replayed and he got gipped. As usual he just went on and on when it was clear nothing was going to come from it. I know that's part of his schtick but come on.

Good win tho.

Good win for Roddick, just did his usual stuff. He served well and just kept passing the ball back to Mahut, who then proceeded to hit mostly unforced errors when he was serving. Mahut has talent but never puts it to good use. Against a player like Roddick, you can afford to serve and volley most of the time, especially since Roddick was struggling when Mahut came to the net.

Good win tho.At first, he was being silly.... i mean, he had just won the first set easily and had some BPs, it's not like he was angry. If he had just joked about it right after and moved on, it would've been funny.. at that point everyone was laughing even him and even Mo. But the fact that he kept going and going even during games in between points, it just got old fast. I mean Mo kept smiling, maybe that's b/c Mo's always smiling but he didn't seem too aggrieved by it and Andy kept laughing, so it's like he knew he was just being a whiny brat about it but he should've just stopped b/c most importantly it hurt his game too

Roddick has a way of strutting around the court like a damn peacock when winning easily. He was being a clown and it cost him the set - wish it would have cost him the match but Mahut couldn't keep it together.

Clowning with the umpires isn't bad as long as he focusses and wins. Besides it brings diversity to the game.

The only thing I wish he hadn't done was let it go on so long. Everyone was laughing at first, even he himself, he just couldn't let it go so it kind of got in his head most of the 2nd set. But he played a good few first games in the third set so to say Mahut would've won b/c Andy couldn't stop mouthing off to the ump except that he couldn't keep it together is not that accurate of a description IMO but we can just agree to disagree on this :)

it IS incredibly boring...lacoste is obviously a famous clothes brand, really wonder why he does not take just a tiny bit advantage of that. Always in Wimbledon attire, perhaps he can't get over the two chances he had in 05,06 to grab the title that he is forever buried in it.
