He won 12 sets in a row? Well Lopez is a good player on fast surfaces so anyway some time he would happen to break this tabu and was today.
Anyway I think that Stepanek had many chances. If he could not be broke on last set when 4-5 he could have won even playing too defensive.

I'm so proud of Feli. He played well. It was a tough first round draw for him, as Stepanek had beaten him 6 matches in a row (and had won like 14 sets in a row in the process). But Lopez just stayed with it and didn't completely lose his mind (though he did just a tiny bit a few times because he can't help himself).

But he served well, and actually hit some really good backhands.

I saw Albert Costa smile a hell of a lot more than he usually does during Feli's matches. :lol:

This is just a horrible outcome. Not only did Rado lose, he lose to fucking Lalo.

And what made it extra satisfying was that the announcers as much as guaranteed he was going to lose it, even predicting he would get broken in the second set at 4-4 just like he had in the first, and Stepanek would win 6-4 6-4. But instead, Feli broke Stepanek at 4-3, proving them wrong, and went on to win the match.

Pathetic Radek! Awful play on break points tonight. How you went from having 3 break points at 2-1 to blowing 40-0 in the next game will never cease to amaze me. Plus, you couldn't even hold serve after you evened things at 4-4. Totally ridiculous! Lalo played well tonight but Radek should never have lost this one.

Way on the contrary, it is the best possible outcome. Sexiest on earth does much better chasing pussies outside the female locker room than on a tennis court playing a real male player. Appart from being freaking ugly his behaviour is annoying and his antics highly unpleasant to look at.

When Stepanek realized there was no grass to roll around like at Wimbledon, he fell apart completely.

its the spanish thing this year. the spaniards have won something like 14 tournaments this year. everybody is getting into the act. even Verdasco has a title this year. Ferru took a title on grass. Robredo has a title as well.

i guess the argies speak spanish so they too have a few titles. Nalby has one on clay and delpotro has 2 on clay.

i dont see Lopez winning a title here obviously but he is playing well enough to win a match or 2 here.

Disappointing result given Stepanek's dominant H2H advantage in this match-up, but very entertaining match. Have to give credit to Lopez here - he was really going after his shots running around his backhand to hit big forehands and he hit some very good topspin backhand returns which caught Stepanek by surprise quite understandably. Stepanek had his fair share of chances but was tentative on the big points.

Lopez has a beautiful game, really. So smooth, can do a lot of different things on the court, always looking to take the command of the point, being agressive but, no where near a ball basher. Is nice seeing him doing well, he has a nice game.

At first it was funny. But Radek kept going at it for way too long. I was a bit mad at him for stealing the kid's thunder. The kid must've been so uncomfortable. Lalo didn't really even get to apologize because Radek was all up in his grill. Shame on you Steps.
