[robby] served hella lot better than his opponent.
Only in the last set did Robby serve better... it's usually not that way for him.

This was Robby's first match win in Canada :o

I'm curious, what are you basing this statement on? Because he's ranked higher or what?

I think because Paulo has some good shots and when he is okay with his mind and controls his force he can beat many players, but like Soderling he is very unstable.

Based on Ginepri's last match :o and on Paulo's experience in Canada. He always does great here. He has been unlucky with some draws but still http://www.atptennis.com/5/en/players/playerprofiles/playeractivity.asp?query=Singles&year=0&player=M850&selTournament=421&prevtrnnum=0

...unlike Ginepri http://www.atptennis.com/5/en/players/playerprofiles/playeractivity.asp?query=Singles&year=0&player=G569&selTournament=421&prevtrnnum=0

Fair enough, but that last match of Robby's was a very rare result for him... not the fact that he lost (because he can lose to anyone when he's not playing well), but because Robby almost always wins at least 8 games in every match he plays, regardless of how highly ranked his opponent is. And in his last match, he couldn't hold serve to save his life, and he only won six games (thanks to his return game). That's very rare for him.

As far as the match-up is concerned, the match really could have gone either way. The only time they've played on hardcourt before, Robby won, so... I didn't expect a certain player to win this match I guess.

Extremely disappointing outcome. Consistency will ever remain a lost word in Mathieu dictionary.
