Llodra is a weird man, he misses too much shots but he could have won this game if he could have putted more pressure on Gasquet.
Gasquet was plain average to good game i guess.

Win is a win. Allez Richard. He has nothing to defend in these 2 Masters events.

I should see the real score, but the point is that Llodra is really weird, anyway I think he is still geting into action 9he was injured wasn´t he)?

;) ...6-3 in the third.

Gasquet lost his head in the middle of the second set, that costed him the whole set.
He even tried to keep blowing the points in the beginning of the 3rd. Llodra had 2 BPS in 1-0*.
After all that brainfart, Gasquet finally decided to play better.. :o

Llodra had his chances but all those netted points and mishits didn't quite help.. oh well :o

Life would be so much easier for Gasquet if he could just manage to concentrate for 2 full sets. He's gonna kill me with his rollar coaster play.

Really glad he pulled it out, thanks in part to Llodra who couldn't keep the ball in play when Gasquet was on the ropes. But at least Gasquet hung in enough to get the W.

Gasquet is at least winning some matches these days, good for him.

Average performance from Gasquet, not a great match overall with him only coming up with winners every so often and Llodra beginning his comeback from injury. Some brilliant shots from Gasquet as always, his backhand was deadly and he hit some great forehand passing shots, but a better player than Llodra would've punished him today. He was very lackluster at times, when he plays well he alwas seems to let his guard down and that could prevent him from becoming much better than he already is. A win is a win though, well done to him.

Good match, even though Richard needs to keep his focus up if he wants to go far in this tournament

From what I saw, Llodra was just pitiful. (I tuned in midway through the third.) He was spraying shots all over the place and his volleys weren't great. Can't really comment on the rest. Oh well, nice one Richard.

The Wimbledon withdrawal was not a big injury at all, just an inflammation of the buttock muscle, he was fine after a few days already.

I thought Llodra would do this but no. He took a set of Gasquet but that isn't hard these days.

Ah, ok, fair enough. I don't pay much attention to Llodra to be honest, I was just going by what our commentators were saying over here.

A win is a win I suppose  Didn't see this one but I gather from the comments of those who did that Gasquet will have to improve in order to advance much further in the draw. At least he's already done better than last year IIRC...

It wasn't too long ago that he wasn't winning any matches so to lose a set in his first HC match in months is expected.

I'd love Kohli **** him like 6-1, 6-3.

i would like to see him make a deep run here. Gasquet`s game is on the mend and he is playing with more confiedence. he had Murray on the ropes at Wimby and should have finished him. he can take a lot of positives from that match anyway.

as you suggested, he was in a major slump a while back so its good to see him do well. he was a finalist here a while back if i am not mistaken.

As a Gasquet fan, you need to realise this; if Gasgay is to ever win a Masters title or a Grand SLam ( ), he will need to be R1, R2 mugs easily.

And if Murray's going to be a contender, he's got to learn to stay healthy for longer than 5 months out of the year.

I know. With his potencial he must defeated LLodra with 2 and 3. It's pretty annoyiong seeing him struggle with Ll.

 :yeah: But I give Richie a little slack for this match. As I said, this is his first match on HC since April, and it takes a little time for a player to adjust. I don't even expect the top guns to come out rolling in their first matches.

I hate Murray, he is a disgrace to tennis. All the top guns on hard (Federer, Djokovic) court roll over first opponents by playing medium, Gasquet is struggling to beat Llodra. Can you consider him a top 10 player at all? Nope.

Fakervic- Anderson, Moya, Santoro and Simon. All easy early victories eh
