Many if not most of them on 2nd serve too. 8 breakpoints saved in the final set against Querrey and 9 breakpoints saved against Tursunov in the final. Is that a new ATP record?

that made him win the match...he was impressive, then again tursunov was unimpressive

 That's very impressive considering he's not a big server.

As mentioned before in one of the match threads, that's partly because he throws in some change-ups in the break points and plays with more purpose. :yeah:

Certainly not a new record! Blake for example saved 19 break points in the 2nd set against Federer at US Open 2003 (and lost that set)

Even without watching the matches its probably a safe assuumption to say Simple Simon's opponents clowned away 17 break points in a row.

A safe assumption. Blake and Tursey were spraying 2nd serve returns all over the place. It was pretty pathetic actually..

Instead of praising Simon for that stat,we'd better laugh at Tursunov and Querrey for not converting them.:haha:

Fortunately ,we are a bit finished with all those MM tournaments and now,the big guns will come back in Canada.

simon saved 2bps in the opening game vs. young

so that's 19bps in a row for now. probably more to come.

I am sure that when Roddick, Federer and Ljubicic held serve for more than a 100+ games they saved more breakpoints. :p
