In the final qualifying round of the Lexington, Kentucky Challenger, Chris Guccione lost to the pretty much unknown Rylan Rizza 6-7 (3) 3-6 :o

Guccione seems to be falling down to the well with no end.

An Australian ATP final has been the only thing keeping him in the top 100 for each of the last two seasons...he can't do shit otherwise.

I'm crushed.

Once there was a country where tennis existed and was good, it's name was "Australia".

Like Somdev Devvarman, who also qualified for the main draw in Lexington, he played college tennis at the University of Virginia.

What is the world ranked 93 doing in a challenger qualifier tournament anyway?

Apart from losing, obviously.

He didn't sign up for the entry list so he got into the qualifying draw at a late stage.

he should take a break if he's injured.

Guccione cant seem to play consistent tennis. In the Aussie summer, he makes an ATP final beating top 50 players en route and now he is losing to a player ranked 900 places below.

Rizza is not completly unknown, this result is less surprising than some people are making it.

The guy has had a decent run in some Futures, has a background in college tennis and I am sure can deal with a racquet quite well. But it's still not a good showing from Guccione ;)

Poor guy he's living in 2004. Poor him when he finds out Australian tennis sucks big time in 2008...
