Kinda nasty by Max, I understand he had a plane and they were 0-2 after 1st day and it rained all Saturday so he didn't play doubles, but either you *are* with the team no matter, win or lose, or you are a lousy person.

This information comes from our DC guys :wavey:.

It's weird because he isn't even playing doubles in Toronto!

I think you should reconsider your words. Max has always done everything for the Belarus' DC team. He has played sick, injured. He has beaten the world's top players. He has every right to take a break or whatever, especially now that he's not helping the team at all, due to his awful form. :)

Agreed. A true DC warrior. Beat the likes of Safin in his prime and often combined singles victories with doubles ones in the same weekend.

I know, the more surprised I am, and that's why I gave a source of my information.

They said Voltchkov said he was injured and didn't want to play. Mind that Belarus still had chances to win the rubber at 0-2 . Belarus guys have always been great fighters and played even injured, it's a known fact .

Very weird - what is the big rush? Jamie Murray is playing with Andy this week and next too I think as they prepare for the Olympics, Max isn't in the draw with anyone else that I can see so...is he off to play a challenger or something?

Max Mirnyi can do no wrong.

He's got a WC to the Olympics.

I find the whole situation very fishy considering that all this seems like a boycott of sorts to me. The federation chose an outdoors venue. We all know Max and Voltchkov have always played much better indoors. Then this sudden flight and all...

Max doesn't go to Canada and Us. His next event is Olympics

I know that - I mean why would Max be off to Toronto though? Doesn't seem much point if he isn't playing until the Olympics so why would he be in such a rush to catch a flight?

I don't think we're getting the right story here - certainly not the full story.

Maybe it's not to Toronto but to the US as he lives there.

Yeah I suppose so.

Max has all the right to do that. He has done everything for his DC team in the past ;)

Given the lack of depth in their DC Max deserves tons of credit for keeping them in or close to the world group for so long anyway.

That, and the court-layers in Minsk :)

Max = lousy person? He's one of the most genuinely nice guys on the tour. :wavey:

There aren't any reports on why he didn't play yet. We have no real idea why he didn't play. It could be anything. Maybe he had plans to play a small event, maybe he was heading down to Bolletieri's for training, maybe one of his daughters got sick, who knows?

And if he did leave, so what? Most players would not play a relegation tie in the middle of July right before the two Masters events, so he was kind enough to show up. You think many of the top players would have played the DC this weekend? I don't think they would have.

Max is in Minsk. He is in hospital at least till the end of this week.

According to a Max-fan friend of mine, Max and Voltikov acquired an infection and had a high fever during DC match. But he seems to be recovering - so hopefully he will be fine for the Olympic.

Davai, Max! :)

What's the problem with DC ties this year? First the Serbs in Russia and now the Belarusians in Poland.

Once more a bullshit information from Nathaliia.

Like the one with the challenger incident of Pashanski. Then a other user who made a line umpire at the match came and said it was all different than Nathaliia wanted to fool us.
