shame, but loosj liek he played (and most importantly) served well against a quialty plyer who is no slouch on indoor courts. just needs to keep that kind of level up week in week out on the futures and challengers.

Hes in R2 in Jersey after a 6-2 6-2 win over ATP finalist this year Seranni :D :woohoo: :bounce:

very good win by slabba. neatly overlooked by the BBC in their rush to post a story about boggo losing at the same event.
would be nice if he can build on it and that into a good week (esp cause i think he has quite a few points to defend coming up).

Yes, a nice win for Slabba - his relative dearth of victories against higher ranked players looks to have been properly broken by this. Here's crossing my fingers to him breaking his habit of losing in Challenger R2s..

L16: Joshua Goodall (Gbr) bt Alexander Slabinsky (Gbr) 6-1 6-4
A little disappointing for Alex that it was so uncompetitive; and he really did need the points - he has 40 to come off before the end of the season!
Alex is back on tour :D and he win his 1st match this week. He beat fellow Brit Matthew Illingworth 7-6 7-6. Good strat to his comeback. In the 2nd round though he lsot to Claudio Grassi 6-1 6-1 :tape: A long way to go before he's back to his best.

Yeah, its going to be tough for Slabba, i don't expect too much this year to be honest but hopefully start of next year after a good winter break things will pick up.

Alex is currently 25 years old and ranked 524. He lost to Joshua Goodall in the first round of the Bath Challenger this week.
he doesnt have many fans here i guess
he has won 2 futures this year so far, he is trying to comeback!

He has won two futures this year but aside from that his results have been very poor (only amassing 9 points). Also worth baring in mind that the one of the futures he did win (GB F11) was played on appalling courts which one player described as unfit for club tennis and like playing in your back garden. The top 4 seeds all lost in the first round and Alex didn't play a single top 500 player. He also had a fairly soft run in his other futures win.

still he won and is back into top 600 and climbing. if he has a couple of good results more this season he will be top 500 player again :)
