Uhhh, why would you pick Kohli to lose in his home country? Flake is such a low% player.

Sorry, Smoke944, just reread my post and that was really too much of a lecture. Sorry about your v-cash.

Federer wins his 59th straight grass court win. For sure. Kohlschreiber is good, but not good enough for Federer.

By the way, after the Federer-Kiefer match (on ZDF) there was an interview with Roger in a studio. He spoke German of course. What I'm trying to say is: He really has an accent, I had to do my best to understand him. Did anybody else have that?

I understand Roger's German just fine but I did not hear this interview so I cannot help you out at all, Yves.

You're right, and you definitely weren't lecturing. Blake isn't one of my favorite players, but he's a pretty consistent winner, and I felt good about him winning, especially considering the odds. And don't be sorry about my v-cash, it's v-cash :)

To be honest when I heard at the beginning of the tournament Kohli has to defend a semifinal there, I wasn't sure at all that he could do it. And now he even gains points. GLückwunsch Kohli!

Swiss-German sounds different from the German that Germans in Germany speak, so maybe you're used to a different kind of German. It's like Flemish vs Dutch.

Finally someone (Kohlschreiber) stopped this torture of Blake's game. I hope he can put himself together during the hard summer season.

I only caught a little bit halfway through the first set - what was Blake going off on the umpire about??

Really? There was a little accent but wasn't any problem for me. I think he really tried to speak without accent! ;)

Probably the typical way of Roger talking normal German. He speaks it with a slight Swiss accent.

Well, I think James's game is NOT that well suited to grass necessarily. His shots are really low percentage and he struggles to defends against other players on grass. James likes a rhythm in his game. Grass does not give you a rhythm and the bounce is very low off the slice which is not easy for James to deal with off his flat forehand. If you keep the ball low on grass to his forehand he will make errors due to his lack of topspin. One should not use EXCESSIVE topspin on Grass indeed, but James hits so flat that I think he needs a little higher bounce like on a hardcourt. In short, clay and grass both present footwork problems for James and force him to play a more varied game that baseline bashing which is where he excels IMO.

Nice win for Kohlschreiber. :yeah: This was an expected win apparently according to the bookies, that had Kohlschreiber as a slight favourite heading into the match.

Second final of the year for Kohlschreiber, also the second in Germany. I hope he can make one round or another in Wimbledon.

@Federer's german: I never had a problem understanding Federer, his accent is very decent most of the time. Hingis is an other case but what would she have to say at all?
