Solid display from Djoker, but he wasn't that good as Llegs was awful. If Novak learns how to move on grass and improve his volleys, he might became a strong contender for Wimbledon crown.

He should beat Nalbandian now and then we'll see what happens in the final. habibko 06-13-2008, 03:45 PM whoa is that all Hewitt? so much for second best on grass Sunset of Age 06-13-2008, 03:46 PM Impressive, even if Hewitt was off. Branimir 06-13-2008, 03:47 PM Good display by Novak. Bad volleying again. I am getting frustrated with Novak's game lately. I mean, he hired Vajda to teach him to be good at the net, but he keeps being only average. anon57 06-13-2008, 03:48 PM Strong match fron Djokovic, Hewitt wasn't playing well but still good play from Djokovic. MIMIC 06-13-2008, 03:48 PM Incredibly solid performance, although Djokovic could actually improve. Clay Death 06-13-2008, 03:51 PM Good display by Novak. Bad volleying again. I am getting frustrated with Novak's game lately. I mean, he hired Vajda to teach him to be good at the net, but he keeps being only average. his lethal ground game allows him to go to the net at his own terms. he does not need to be able to volley like Fed. the guy is just a monster and he can shift gears. Tankman 06-13-2008, 03:51 PM Vintage crappy Hewitt. Started off badly and never got any better from there. Lost half his points through stupid errors and played the big points awfully, especially the 3 BPs he squandered in the 2nd set. Watching this match reminded me why I hate watching Hewitt play live. Djokovic didn't really have to do much at all today. Petrovic 06-13-2008, 03:51 PM Joker still adopting to the surfice and he will improve even more. Hewitt is just not in the same class as Joker, Nadal and Fed. But i still don't know is Joker gonna go for this title or maybe relax and wait for wimby to start. This win was so easy ! Farenhajt 06-13-2008, 03:54 PM Commanding on-court presence from Nole and too much unfocused spraying and netting from Rusty. The scoreline is just about right. Good thing Nole was always able to make up for his occasional idiocies, most notably in the 6th game of the second set. With this performance, he should have no significant trouble against either Nalby or Richie. MrChopin 06-13-2008, 03:56 PM Nole crushed Hewitt's transitional era serve, and Hewitt responded by spraying UEs with his new non-transitional forehand. Don't get excited too quickly serbtards. Hewitt is #30 in the world and this is was a transitional test at best. Petrovic 06-13-2008, 03:56 PM I think Joker is better than Nadal on grass but i am not sure is he serious going for this tournament. He has a very good chance winning Wimbledon ! Good thing Nole was always able to make up for his occasional idiocies, most notably in the 6th game of the second set. affirmative. spot on. Djokovic`s movement and his rock solid foundation off either wing is intimidating. hope people now realize why he would have taken Fed apart piece by piece at Roland Garros. he will do it at Wimby if given a chance. he is indeed the true "all surface threat" now. watch and learn. Herdwick 06-13-2008, 03:59 PM Precision engineering from Nole today - very smooth. Manon 06-13-2008, 04:00 PM Novak - just brilliant!:worship: Lleyton '2nd best on grass' Hewitt hewitt is defo #2... hewitt is best on grass and even fat dave cant claim amn outysiders chance here cos he got up and dumped in 02... only W champ in the draw... djokovic needs 1 more grand slam so he doesnt need to do footwear commercials with lopez, and 3 more so he doesnt have to do underwear commercials with marat... fukn joker... i will cover your bills if you need to see a doctor... Great baseline game, great return, some nice drop shots but awful volleys and smashes (although was very few opportunities for that). Novak - work more on S&V and Wimbledon is your! Lee 06-13-2008, 04:04 PM Good match from Nole. Showed up to play starting from the first game of the match which is a rarity lately. Hewitt is definitely not at his best. lurker 06-13-2008, 04:06 PM The result is not a surprise...Djokovic beat Lleyton the last three times they played. However, it's disappointing that Lleyton didn't do better. I agree, too many UEs. And the wrong tactic. He can't serve well enough against Djokovic to serve him wide on grass. He needs to go into the body more and serve/volley him more, because I honestly don't think Djokovic can consistently pass him. And the drop shot to bring him into the net on uncomfortable terms would be a good tactic, if Lleyton can get his passes and lobs back up to speed. Lleyton used to have one of the best top spin lobs in the game...what happened to it? And who can forget how many times we saw him pass Sampras en route to his US Open title? Lleyton couldn't hang with Djokovic doing his usual game. Djokovic is too good for that...his results against Rafa using this tactic is proof enough, and Rafa is much better at this game than Lleyton now. vucina 06-13-2008, 04:11 PM Too easy. If Swiss miss was watching this performance, he will wake up tonight in cold sweat. Well, at least he has Estoril. First two matches there was some baggage over Djokovic, first grass, than Tipsi ... only baggage he had now was that he knew he owns Hewitt - no baggage at all, free as a bird. Im a bit sorry for Rocky. Always liked the guy. Even today he didn't give up, kept fighting. 3-2 in the second on Noles serve I believe. IMO... and, from what i have seen over the last two years, i wouldnt raise an eyebrow if he won a back to back here in 5 years time... liadela 06-14-2008, 09:04 AM Lleyton's heart is still there but any power he had left is gone - in his prime he'd have kicked Nole into next week here I agree. MaryX 06-15-2008, 12:56 PM There is nothing wrong with really supporting and cheering on your countrymen or women. They are wrong. Well, things are pretty clear. When P.A. supports Federer who is his countryman, then everything is ok, cause Federer is a great player and his 12 GS titles prove that. When Serbs are supporting Djokovic then it is wrong, because they only do that because he is their countryman-he has just one GS title that doesn't prove anything about his tennis abilities. Conclusion:just Serbtards are cheering for Novak, hopefully one GS wonder.Fine logic. leng jai 06-15-2008, 01:08 PM I don't se what is problem with that.
