Playing Styles and Rivalries

Which pair of players on tour have the most contrasting playing styles? Is it all serves vs baseline bashers? one dimension vs all rouder? Or is two handed backhands vs onehanded backhands (;))? or something else?

Also, what do constrasting playing styles mean for rivalries? are they entailments? Have all the great rivalries past and present been based on two contrasting styles of players?

A series of questions inspired by a certain program i was watching. An old aussie program that basically said that Hewitt and Federer had the most constrasting playing styles and was a great rivalry. Obviously, years later, many would diasgree with this view (or do you?). Now, we see FEDAL as the main rivalry on court, and we tend to see it as two constrasting styles. and then i think of Sampras/agassi, Borg/mcenroe, again two contrasting styles. jus basically where my questions come from.

what's your view?:)

Federer vs. Hewitt wasn't a great rivalry. Not much of a rivalry really.

Today's tennis style is rather one dimensional.

Federer/Hewitt was not a rivalry. Hewitt had a period at the top where Federer was just one of the other guys below him, then that reversed dramatically and immediately. The 2003 Davis Cup match was the turning point and the only time any sort of "rivalry" probably existed. Nadal/Federer is a true rivalry and one of completely opposing styles, on court personas, surface preference etc... It's possibly the most dramatic example in history.

Nadal/Fed :worship:

Hewitt dominated Fed in the early 2000's, but then got caned after that.

At the top of the game Nadal-Federer is obviously the rivalry of note. Hewitt-Federer and Roddick-Federer can't really be counted due to the amazing string of Federer wins against them.
I think that Murray-Roddick could turn into a good rivalry as could Djokovic-Nadal. In terms of contrasting styles Murray-Roddick might be the best.
