Queens R3: Roddick def Fish 7-6(5) RET

:( Mardy dived for a ball at last point (set point) and hurted his foot.

Disappointing after an enjoyable first set.

The dive from Mardy was great, but as he got up he seemed to twist it :(

Fish made a diving volley on SP for Roddick (great volley I must add, but it wasnt enough) and there he seemed to hurt his left ankle. Had injury time out during the set break but didnt continue afterwards as he barely was walking

Fishy :hug: Hopefully, that injury is not too serious, and he can be back for Wimbledon.

Roddick didn't play well today, imo. Especially his BH, which was quite :help: Should have used slice a lot more, and I don't understand why he was so reluctant to move forward :shrug:

too bad ,that is the risk you have by imitating Superman

That's a shame for Fish, that explains why the retirement was after such a close first set.

Mardy was unlucky but that was a great dive. Roddick played average but will have to improve his backhand passing shots. He also said that even he served at above 80% he still feels that the snap in his serve hasn't quite returned yet.

Yeah a pity Fish got injured there...was looking forward to another competitive set. He has 10 days to recover, which he should, unless the injury is more serious than it perhaps looked.

As for Roddick, I'll be surprised if he defends his title...he is looking pretty vulnerable at the moment, and these final rounds are sure to be a lot tougher for him.

Bad, really bad.

Sorry for Mardy and Andy has to play better in the future.

they were winding him up saying Andy Castle and Lloydy were looking all over the place for the sports ill mag of A-rod's burd and then he went into the commentary booth - told them to "just look at each other for the rest of the day" :lol: you could hear him while the Murray-Gulbis match was about to start hehe

Andy was winding Rusedski up about breaking his serve speed WR .. Greg complained the equipment wasnt good enough in his day and Rod told him he bribed the speed gun guy for his 155 serve .. Greg was in bits :haha:

Andy telling Sue Barker he settled for his new girl because she turned his marriage proposal down a few years ago

Andy's going for his sixth title! Mark my words.

Too bad for Fish but as for Andy - one way or another he'll be winner again.

What a ham, lol. His interviews are always fun to listen to. Can't imagine any player more entertaining in front of a microphone. Hopefully, he's recovered from the shoulder injury 100% and is able to make a run at Wimby.
