nothing going in Sweden, is it?
the whole summer in wide parts of Europe sucks :banghead:

anyway, just let's get this tournament getting over, should Söderling win or González or should Gaudio win his mandatory title or choke away a 6-0 5-0 lead... main thing for me is to get ridden of all this shit in Europe :banghead: and the focus is more and more on the US hardcourt season.

A thing called rain, nothing unusual in a Swedish summer.

Don't worry the hardcourt season starts on Monday, and you don't have to bother these so-called shitty tournaments in Europe.

nit, this has been the worst for quite some long time.

Båstad, doesn't lose many days or much time at all because of the weather, but nothing is surprising these days with the weather patterns.

i think this is just a year of rain! there is definitely gonna be a lot of rain in the US hard court season this year as well, there has to be. There was some last year on the East Coast and there have been non-stop storms over here this year... storms are fun though--lightning!

Gaudio breaks again, 3-0. Söderling is getting frustrated, he is being plain and simple outclassed. Gaudio hits just as hard but far more accurate and consistent, and he moves much better than the Swede. Söderling better come up with something pretty quickly.

Söderling doesn't have anything on clay to beat Gaudio, when he is hit hard indoor game doesn't work on clay. He has beaten Robredo and Chela this week, but Gaudio should win on this surface.

Good, just wanted to know, then again he didn't deserve to be in the later rounds of the French, did he?

Gonzo Hates Me!
07-11-2004, 03:29 PM
If you REALLY want me to answer your question GWH, okay okay. Sheesh. I don't like the word "deserve" and I never use it when it comes to sports. And I am 100% sure I never used that word.

But, I didn't want him to be in the latter rounds. I was shocked he was there. But when I say latter, I mean quarterfinals and semifinals, b/c Guga, Lleyton, and Nalbandian were all on his side of the draw, and I wanted one of them in the final. I am not going to prefer him over them anyday. Just because I didnt want him there doesnt mean I feel he doesnt deserve to be there, but it can still mean I can be shocked to see him there. His Roland Garros win is just as shocking as Guga's first.

Action Jackson
07-11-2004, 03:33 PM
Thanks for the answering that question Mrs.Guga, it just came across as if Gaudio didn't deserve to be in the later rounds of the tournament and that's rubbish, sure you have your faves and I don't expect you to change that. It's strange considering he is better than Hewitt or Nalbandian on clay, so it was not that shocking, but winning the title was.

Gaudio did not beat 3 former French Open champions and that alone doesn't put in the category of Guga's 1997 win.

Gonzo Hates Me!
07-11-2004, 03:41 PM
Just for clarification, I like Gaudio. He's not one of my faves, but I did want him to defeat Coria, that is before Coria made me feel sorry for him.

I think much of what occurred on that side of the draw was shocking, and I wanted the fairytale ending for Gus or Lleyton particularly, but Gaston got the ending, so, ho hum
