:woohoo:

Nico got it done the hard way but a win is a win as he has finalist points here!

Did somthing fishy happen at the beginning of the 3rd set TB?

If the grass season were longer, Mahut would be in the top 20. That's a good win, and Feli is no slouch.

Very tight match, I thought that Lopez is going to win it since he lost only 5 points on his serve in the 2nd set.
At 0:0 in TB, fire alarm rang and Steve Ulrich the bigest jerk of them all took away a clear point off Feliciano.

Lopez should have been a minibreak up in the last TB. The point was replayed because of an emergency alert which "would" have affected Mahut... :retard:

Lopez hit a return winner to get a mini break but the umpire said due to the noise they have to replay the point. Terrible call

Steve Ulrich is an incompetent boob of an umpire. He totally screwed Feli out of that mini-break he earned in the 3rd set TB. What an idiot. He proved that all match long with his ridiculous calls.

Good on Feli for shaking his hand anyway. I most certainly wouldn't have. No way in Hell.

It's a shame that match, which was quite good, had to end with that crap.

It was odd to replay the point as the point was basically over by the time the emergency alert went off :silly: decision by the chair ump.
Anyways some nice volleys and points by both players, nice match:yeah:

Mahut was very good last year at Queens. As for Lopez - pretty strong girl.

I hate this umpire, he should be fired. Poor Feli, who knows what whould happen if they didn't have to replay that point.

and feli even got a warning for delaying the game by ulrich after he was robbed. simply ridiculous.

A very enjoyable match, and I think Lopez was the better player towards the end...pity he was robbed of that first point in the deciding set breaker, but, to be diplomatic, I guess that he wasn't guaranteed to win just off that one point. Kind of inevitable that he lost focus, but Mahut found his serve again and certainly earned one of those two mini-breaks he manufactured.

Sure to be an interesting game with Isner.

Oh and how much was Castle oogling over Lalo in the commentary? :p

Thanks Steve I owe you a few euros.

Lopez was robbed. Great fight from Mahut though because he was playing like shit in the final set. He looked tired as hell and was slow getting to every ball. It was only his 1st serve keeping him in the match. All Lopez had to do to win the point was get it back in play.

There looked like there could only be 1 winner going into the final breaker, especially when Lopez got the mb....

Two great grass court players. It could have gone either way. Shame Ulrich interfered. Classy of Lopez to shake his hand. Respect to both for playing a really enjoyable match with some great volleying from both sides.

Mahut will do better at this year'sWimbledon ebcause he won't be tired of all the Qualifier matches. However the grass is slower at Wimbledon so won't be as successful.

i had to switch this off after a set and a half because it was just boring. i love grass court tennis but when both guys are constantly S&V with no mixing up of play, and both have big problems actualy hitting decent returns, it became tiresome.

at least mahut won because he has a lot of points to defend.

Nice match indeed! :yeah:

Well, all those people bashing Ulrich - had he given the point to beautiful Feliciano certainly Mahut would've protested so...
It was inevitable that Feliciano lost his concentration after that, but really classy to still shake hands with Ulrich. :yeah:
Bad luck Feliciano!

i watched the replay again. ulrich made the correct call. the noise started as soon as mahut came to the net.
It contraversial but tecnically it was correct. Blame the person whoever made that sound not ulrich.

Exactly, I think technically Ulrich was right, even if Feli thought he hit a clear winner.

Thanks for the video, I guess the decision by the umpire was the right one after all, when I watched the match live I thought the sirene had started just after the ball was past Mahut. But he was still heading to the net when the sound started, unfortunate for Lopez to have to replay the point when he probably could have one the first time but sometimes that happens:shrug:

This is bullshit.
Mahut was 1 meter away from the ball,it was already over the net and couldn't played it even if he had Monfilses arms x 3 !!!
Ulrich should have let the call to remain.

Yeah, it required a common sense call really.

Would have liked Mahut to be more sporting and admit he had no chance of reaching the ball - doesn't happen often enough at pro-level, it's win at all costs for them.

Most funny thing was, second before Mahut was serving, commentator said : turn it on now! They turned it on, OK,:haha:...
